PART 1
“The council has approved our request. Faith is to stay here indefinitely.” Giles said and walked around the table and added, “I'm to look after you both until a new Watcher is assigned.”
“Good. She really came through in the end. Ah, Giles, does that mean you’re gonna take care of her motel room’s rent? Because we really have to do something about this, you know.”
“Yes, Buffy, everything she needs to live properly she will have, don’t worry. I’m more worried about her state of mind at this moment. Are you sure she’s going to be alright, Buffy?”
Giles asked, while he and Willow were giving concerned looks, as they were waiting for Buffy’s reply.
“Yes she will. I mean, these things takes time but we’re still gonna be here so we’ll make sure she’s alright. I’ll make sure she’s alright. She had a lot to deal with, but she did it. She faced it, put it behind her and that’s the hardest part.”
“I'm glad to hear it.” Giles said, and Buffy hesitantly began,
“Angel was cured.”
Giles looked up at her, “I'm sorry?”
Buffy went on, “When I killed him, Angel was cured. Your spell worked at the last minute, Will. I was about to take him out, and, um... something went through him... and he was Angel again. He - he didn't remember anything that he'd done. He just held me. Um, but I - it was... it was too late, and I…I had to. So I…I told him that I loved him... and I kissed him... and I killed him.”
She looked down at the table again for another long moment. Giles and Willow remained silent. Then Buffy added,
“I don't know if that helps with your spell or not, Giles.”
“Uh, yes, I…I believe it will.”
Willow told her with all her sympathy, “I'm sorry.”
“It's okay. I've been holding on to that for so long. Felt good to get it out. I'll see you guys later.”
She left the library.
Buffy went to see Scott, outside of his class room. Trying to make up for her past behavior around him and asked him if he still wanted to go to the Buster Keaton festival he’d invited her to earlier. After a fake hesitation he very quickly said,
“Okay. You know what, I thought about it, and I'm in. When do you want to go?”
Buffy smiled, “Uh, well, I have 2 things that I have to do tonight, and then I'm good.”
“Good.” He said, with a goofy smile.
Buffy smiled back at him.
~~
She went to the Mansion where she had killed Angel and left the Claddagh ring he had given to her. She placed it on the ground with one final goodbye to him, to her past. And with a smile at finally being able to really move on she headed to Faith’s motel.
A knock on the door.
“Who’s there?” Faith said nonchalantly from her spot on the bed.
“It’s me.”
Faith was up in a second without knowing why, at the sound of the older slayer’s voice. She then calmly went to the door, “Hey B. Is something wrong?”
Buffy frowned at first then broke into a smile, “Why do you think that?”
“Dunno, you coming here today, we seen each other yesterday, so I thought…”
“Is that the impression I give you? Calling you only if there’s trouble? If so, then I’m sorry.”
Faith felt a little stupid, but didn’t say anything. Buffy raised her eyebrows and said, with an amused tone,
“Err, can I come in or do you really not want me in here today?”
Faith stepped aside,
“Oh no, ah, sorry, so what’s the what? I mean, well, why are you here? Or well, err, what do you want to do, then?”
“If I didn’t know you better I’d say you’re babbling.”
Faith turned around and slumped back onto her bed, “Yeah, you really don’t know me well, B.”
Buffy nodded, “Yeah, maybe, anyway good news; the council said you can stay here. Giles will be your watcher till they send you a new one.”
“I don’t need a new watcher.”
“I know you think that now, and I understand but…”
“I don’t need a new watcher, period.” Faith said. Her gaze was somewhat darker now.
Buffy gulped slightly, realizing perhaps she hadn’t totally gotten the younger slayer. Despite the fact she felt they had bonded the previous night. Or so she thought. Maybe she had been wrong, but she didn’t want to think so.
“Look Faith, I know it’s hard, but it’s gonna be better, you’ll get over…”
“Listen B,” Faith interrupted her once more. “I don’t know what you’re thinking of me right now. Yeah, ok I freaked out. I was frozen when I faced Kakistos. Call it emotional freezing, because of what he did to my watcher, but it’s gone now, ok? I am over it now. You helped me with that, thanks. But I’m good, it’s not me. Whining, being scared and freaking out, it’s not me. Begging for help or attention is not me either. So if that’s why you’re here, then you don’t need to be. I’m on my own and it’s cool that way.”
Buffy didn’t know what to say. She tried to remain serious, as serious as Faith was.
“It’s not always enough, Faith. I’m glad I helped you make that step and to be honest you kinda helped me to make that step too, I’m ready now to share my past and move on with my life, and I think that’s where you are too. I don’t think it’s the time to shut yourself off. Especially not to me, because we’re kinda two of a kind now, you know. So maybe we can help each other?”
Faith was about to say something that Buffy already knew was a negative answer, so she very quickly added, “Just a little? I’m someone really needy you know.”
Her ironic tone got her a smile from Faith who smiled and said, “Ok. I always knew I was indispensable anyway.”
Buffy smiled, then Faith said, “So, what does that mean for real, I mean, what do we do? You want to go somewhere, slay some baddies and all?”
Faith’s tone was very telling. Buffy knew for sure the friendly-stuff was not familiar territory in Faith’s life; somehow it made her want to know her better. Then Buffy remembered something and she looked slightly embarrassed, then smiled again,
“Damn! Well, today I can’t. I have a film fest I’m supposed to go to with Scott.”
Faith raised her eyebrows, “So you finally said yes. Anyway, it’s cool, maybe another day.”
**Does she sound disappointed? Oh yes, maybe she really wanted to get it on with him. Yes, that’s probably it. She’s not his type anyway. Hell, what do I know about her type anyway?**
“Hello!”
Buffy gave a jump at Faith’s calling; Faith asked again, “Wow, where were you?”
“Oh, nowhere, I mean, just thinking you know.”
“This, I’ve noticed. Anyway, I said have a nice day with your cutie.”
Buffy then said, “Hey, we could hang out together this evening, patrol if you want?”
Faith frowned, “I thought you were spending the day with Scott?”
Buffy frowned, “Yes I am but… yes, day you know, stops when the evening arrives you know and evening, well, kind of what I offered you. So I guess I can do both if I try hard.”
“Huh?!”
Faith said then slightly smiled as she understood Buffy’s
teasing and she went on,
“Thanks B. I know that already,
what I meant is just, well, I thought you’d be, you know, with
him, all day, all the way, you know.”
“Huh?!” This time it’s Buffy who looked confused before her eyes widened and she started blushing.
“Oh, oh! That, oh, no, absolutely, definitely no. it’s gonna be our first date.” She said like it was a reason making it impossible. Faith just shrugged in a so-what-? way and Buffy said with the same tone,
“I barely know him.”
Faith shrugged the
same way. Buffy looked all panicky,
“It’s just, no,
God. It’s, no, never gonna happen, ever again. No chance.”
Faith gave her a suspicious look and Buffy said,
“Ok, maybe one day, with someone, but not for a long, very long time and with someone I’m really in love with and that I know very, very well and someone that goes out during day light.”
Faith couldn’t help smiling a bit then she said,
“Aren’t you bored with your life B?”
“Thanks,” Buffy said with a sarcastic smile.
“Ok, here’s the deal. I get it we have very different habits towards men and, well, sex. Since you’re someone really needy, as you pointed out, and God how I get it now,” She winked at Buffy as B was about to interrupt Faith’s mockery and Faith went on,
“So I’m gonna help find you a couple of guys. Help you deal with your little sex problem, ok?”
“Well, thanks but, no,”
Faith pouted amusingly then smiled as Buffy smiled at her. Then the blonde girl went on.
“Anyway, I’m fine. Dates, that’s more a thing I know, and you know it’s usually how you start with these things. But I guess you’d rather skip the day part of the date and you usually go for the night thing and maybe I can be the one helping with that bad habit.”
“If you knew what it was, you wouldn’t say it’s bad. It’s rather good, B. You should…”
“Ok, I get it Faith, and still, thousands of no’s.”
Faith smiled again at Buffy’s blushing. Buffy went on,
“Anyway, you’re cool for tonight? We can patrol, we can meet at the Sun cinema, what do you think?”
“That’s cool for me.”
“Ok, then 8 at the Sun then.”
“Ok.”
Buffy walked towards the door and turned around to Faith, asking her with concern, “What are you gonna do today?”
Faith gave her a wicked smile,
“I have plenty of dudes waiting in line for a little treat while you’re gonna be eating popcorn with your boyfriend, B. So don’t worry for me, I’ll have more fun than you will.”
Buffy nodded then said with a gentle tone, “Still, try not to have too much fun.”
She turned around and left. Faith’s grin faded as the door closed and she turned around, looked at the mess in her room, wondering what she really was going to do today.
**Well, cleaning the room would be a good start, if she comes back it had better be cleaner that this. Wait? What am I saying? Since when do I care what people think? It’s not because it’s Buffy that…**
Faith stopped herself in her thoughts and she smiled then started cleaning her room.
~~~
It was 7.40 P.M. Buffy was checking out the Sun board, reading the movie summaries as a way to kill time since she was there early.
“Already here, B?”
Buffy smiled as she turned around, “I was in the area.”
Then she added, “What about you? Run out of boys?”
Faith gave her a cutting frown, “In another world, Blondie. But I was done and I was… in the area… So,”
They both smiled, then Faith asked with a teasing curiosity, “What about Scotty boy? I thought you were gonna be late, but instead here you are, early, got tired of him already?”
“Not at all miss nasty girl. He’s nice, he’s very nice, and we spent a nice afternoon, but every good thing comes to an end as they say, I mean at least for today, I mean, for Scott and I today.”
Buffy was looking in front of her, she could tell Faith was staring at her. She didn’t speak, but she could still tell Faith was suspicious, with an almost mocking look on her face. So after a while she finally looked at her.
“What? Come on, why are you looking at me like that?”
Faith tried to remain serious, but Buffy could tell she wanted to smile as she frowned and said, “Nice?”
Buffy looked in front of her again, “Yes nice, do you have something against nice boys?”
Faith smiled this time and she was the one looking in front of her as they were still walking.
“What is this nice? What does it say about what the guy makes you feel, B? Nice? It doesn’t mean anything. These shoes I’m wearing are nice, no actually yours are nice, mine are wicked cool, just like my outfits, wicked sexy, yours are nice.”
Buffy looked at her, offended, but Faith didn’t let her say anything.
“See, upset. So, nice, really not a good thing then,”
“Yes, good thing. Really good thing. And I like my outfit. I don’t want to look sexy anyway. And yes Scott is a nice guy and not all of us only want a sex machine in a boyfriend.”
**Oh my God, what did I say?**
“I mean,”
Faith was laughing, but then she simply said in a mischievous way, “Who was talking about boyfriends here?”
She winked at Buffy, who remained serious, “You know what you’re doing is dangerous Faith.”
Faith raised her hands,
“How? Do you really think one of them could hurt me? And if you’re talking about protection, then I can show you my bedside table, there are all different colors, B, you know that. One day I’ll have to show you, some are even perfumed, B. Chocolate’s a fav of mine, but I like vanilla too and strawberry, yum just makes you wanna bite… ok B, in case you’re taking notes, forget about the biting thing, ok?”
Buffy looked down at the ground and Faith swallowed, but then said,
“Look B. If you intend on being all judgmental or even worse, trying to change my way of living, you can just as well go back home right now.”
“I don’t mean to change you Faith, I just. I can’t really imagine that it’s what you really want?”
Faith raised her hands again, “Yes. I do it so that must mean that I like it, right? So, now you’re gonna stop with this sad look whenever it comes to this topic. I don’t like that look on you, ok?”
**Now, why did I say that?**
Buffy was staring at
her, but she didn’t say anything. She gave a short smile,
“Ok,
deal. I’m sorry about this. So, Restfield cemetery or the
campus park?”
Faith took a deep breath and her gaze turned darker,
“Restfield, I need a dusting fest tonight. You and me girlfriend, we’re gonna kick some major asses in this town.”
“You bet.”
They both smiled and Faith put her arm around Buffy’s shoulder, as they headed towards the cemetery with a wicked smile on their lips.
PART 2
Several days went by, as the slayers patrolled together every night. They talked a little about “boys” and past experiences. That is Faith mostly talked about boys, while Buffy spoke very little about Angel but she started feeling more relaxed towards the jokes the brunette slayer made.
It was Friday evening and they were wandering in a cemetery. Buffy was noticeably a little absent-minded when Faith asked,
“What cha thinking about, B?”
“Me, nothing. Just walking, vamps, nights, nothing much.”
Faith went on with another question, “What about Scotty boy tonight, you planning on seeing him?” She said, raising her eyebrow with curiosity.
“No, not tonight,”
Faith slightly smiled then she sarcastically said,
“You could have simply said no,”
Buffy frowned as she didn’t understand and Faith smiled as she continued,
“You haven’t seen him on any evening since you two started dating, so…”
Buffy looked in front of her as she replied, “Ok it’s absolutely not what you’re trying to make it sound like.”
Faith raised her hand in a fake didn’t-mean-anything-way, but Buffy knew better so she went on,
“Besides I see him every day at school,”
“With other students around,” Faith just said, Buffy kept going, “We have lunch together,”
“With the rest of the scoobs,” Faith said again. Buffy frowned and Faith said,
“I’m just sayin, that’s all,”
“That’s not it at all; we spend plenty of time together.”
Faith raised her eyebrows, “Since the movie fest? Tell me when did you see him alone exactly, B?”
Buffy was a little at a loss for words.
“Yesterday!” She said in a hurry, before adding,
“We were together in the counsellor’s office -- I mean -- waiting to be called and there was no one else around.” Buffy was all proud, but Faith asked,
“And why were you there, the two of you?”
“Well actually we...” Buffy trailed off and she pouted at Faith’s victorious smile then Buffy admitted, “It was a coincidence. He wanted to drop one class subject for another and he kind of had to tell why and -- normal procedure you know. And I was there for my appointment with Platt.”
Buffy looked aside then said,
“But it doesn’t mean something’s wrong between Scott and I.”
Faith raised her hands in the air again, “Didn’t say that. Well Hell yeah something’s wrong but, with the boy I guess, you’re really not lying, B? He didn’t even try to feel you up at the movie fest?”
Buffy couldn’t help a smile at Faith’s look, but then she said in a scolding way,
“No. And I’m glad he didn’t, it was our first date.”
Faith raised her eyebrows in a whatever way then she asked,
“You really did kiss, right?”
“Yes, when he brought me home, you happy now?”
Faith frowned and asked again,
“Real kiss with tongue and all, right?”
Buffy slightly turned her head aside in embarrassment but still replied,
“Yes.”
“And since then, you never kissed again, all week long?”
“Sure we did.” Buffy said with pride, but Faith raised her eyebrows.
“How many times?”
“Are we patrolling or talking about my sex life.”
Faith burst out laughing and Buffy put her hands on her hips.
“Don’t make fun of me, Faith.”
“Honey, you don’t have a sex life.” Faith said through laughter.
“You know what I meant, Faith. Ok, this is not funny anymore. Stop laughing now ok or I’ll leave.”
Buffy pretended to leave, but Faith grabbed her arm and held back her oncoming laughter,
“Ok, ok I’ll stop. Anyway just one more question, when you’ve kissed him this week, was it a real French kiss?”
Buffy blushed and then looked upset, Faith already had the response then but Buffy tried to justify,
“The others were here, and his friends too, it’s not a crime to be discreet, Faith, and you should learn to be more.”
Faith was still smiling,
“If you say so. But honestly B. If the boy really made you hot you’d grab his lips and everything else, people around or not. You have that in you too, it’s not being restrained or not, it’s called being a slayer and you can’t fool me on that. I see it when you slay and…”
“It has nothing to do with slaying; it’s two very different things Faith.”
“It has everything to do with being a slayer, B. You’re not two different people, B. When you really understand that your life will be way funnier, B.”
Buffy started walking forward, pouting a little,
“I like my life the way it is. Now come on we haven’t slain anything tonight yet, too much talking. Let’s get to work.”
Faith started walking even faster,
“You’re right, let’s get to the fun, B. Come on girlfriend.”
She started running towards the left as they both heard a noise coming from there. Buffy shook her head in disapproval of the brunette girl’s behaviour, but then just a hint of a smile spread on her lips and she quickly joined Faith on the battle ground.
~~~
The next day, at the bronze. It was almost 9:00 P.M. when Buffy arrived. The others were already here for a while since they were supposed to meet at 8:00. But no one said anything, it was Saturday night, and they were all couply so they didn’t mind that much, apparently.
“So Buffy, now that you’re here, what do you wanna do? Hang out here or go to the 8.30, ok, 10:00 show at the Sun cinema?” Xander asked.
Willow said,
“We couldn’t decide, we were waiting for your vote since Xander and Cordy wanted to stay here and Oz and I would like to see the movie.”
Cordelia sarcastically said, “Well, Willow does, Oz just follows as always.”
The werewolf didn’t take offense at all. He barely frowned and just held his girlfriend tighter. Buffy smiled,
“Well I don’t know. Doesn’t matter, both are good for me. But let’s wait for Faith and we’ll ask her.”
Willow moved forward, out of her boyfriend’s embrace, wearing an upset frown,
“Faith is coming? Now. I thought you had just patrolled together.”
“Well, we just checked out some places, you know with this beasty out, it’s not safe and we have to find it. We’re going again a little later tonight. Right now she just went to change clothes cause we slew a demon and its blood got on her top. She’ll be here in a minute I guess.”
“What about Scott?” Willow asked. Buffy raised her eyebrows,
“What do you mean?”
“Is he coming?”
Buffy hesitated, “Err, no I guess not -- I mean -- I don’t know. Maybe, why?”
“Well, I just, I just think you should know, don’t you think?”
“We’re dating, that doesn’t make me his mother you know, Will.” Buffy said joking, but she was getting a little ill at ease with the other’s gaze on her and Willow continued on,
“I think you’re slaying too much. You don’t see anyone else but demons, Buffy.”
“Faith is there, so don’t worry for my social life, Will.”
“Faith is not exactly the best social type of girl to hang around with.”
Even Xander frowned at the slight mean tone in what Willow had just said, so the red head’s face softened a little and she added,
“I mean, she’s a slayer, you do that together, but what I mean is -- you should do more things with Scott, and us, your friends you know.”
Buffy looked upset,
“Faith is a friend too, I mean, I thought you liked her, Will? Did she say something to you? You know sometimes she doesn’t mean to say bad things, she’s just a little rough on some level but she’s nice. I’m sure it’s because you don’t know her but…”
“Duh, she’s spending all her time with you. I mean she never comes when we’re here, so, pretty hard to get to know the girl.”
There it was again a little bitterness in Willow’s tone. The redhead went on, nicer this time,
“I have nothing against her but look at this week for example; you’ve spent all your evenings with her, all of them.”
“Yes and we’ve been able, with being two of us, to cover all parts of town which by myself would’ve taken twice as much time. We’re making towns safer, Will, it’s not like we were going to the movie nor having fun!”
“Tell me you didn’t love it B and I’ll call you the best liar in the world.”
Faith said with a mischievous tone as she came from behind and put her hand on Buffy’s shoulder as she sat. Buffy looked at her with a you-really-do-know-how-to-say-what-shouldn’t-be-said-exactly-when-it-shouldn’t-be-said” way.
Buffy looked at the gang and told them in her most convincing tone,
“Yeah, beheading, green substances on my face and clothes, dirt and blood, fighting and bruises, that’s really fun, Faith.”
She turned to the brunette slayer, but the smile on Faith’s face let Buffy know Faith couldn’t be fooled by what the blonde girl really felt when they were slaying. Faith raised her eyebrows.
Cordelia said,
“Anyway Faith, now you’re here, movie or dancing?”
Faith saw Xander looking expectantly at her and she smiled,
“That a question? Hell, dancing of course?!”
And as Xander and Cordelia rejoiced and started getting up Faith took Xander’s hand,
“Come on Xan-man; let’s heat up the dance floor a little.”
He had no time to raise his eyebrows guiltily to Cordelia, when Faith had already dragged him on the dance floor, not before giving Buffy a wicked gaze. Buffy just turned her head towards Cordelia who had put her hands on her hips and looked at the two leaving with a restrained complaint. She wasn’t coming to the bronze any more if it meant having to claim her property back when she did. Not that Faith really minded; she just started rubbing herself against other boys, leaving Xander’s libido to rest.
Buffy watched them on the dance floor but remained at her place despite the numerous calls from the hand or just from her look, of Faith to her, to join them. Willow was observing the two of them, as if they were having their own little discussion and they were both in the game of not surrendering. Buffy remained seated all night long and Faith turned even more guys on than she usually did, knowing Buffy didn’t like it when she was so sexually explicit.
Xander and Cordelia were sitting again with the others and Faith came a little later but didn’t sit,
“That’s it guys, goodnight.” she said as she took her jacket.
“Hey wait, where you’re going?” Buffy asked, not liking the sound of her own voice, a little too curious in her own opinion so she very quickly added, “We’re supposed to patrol again tonight, remember?”
“T’s ok B. I just got an itch to scratch.” She said pointing out a brunette guy waiting for her in the corner, lusting over Faith’s curves as she was bent forward on the table and holding onto her hands. Buffy looked like she was about to scold her so Faith talked first,
“My life B. I won’t be long; you can join me in Restfield in about an hour ok? If there’s any urgency you know where to find me and if we’re not done, don’t bother knocking, I’m not modest.” She said with emphasis on the word before adding as she stood straight, “You might even wanna join us. Bet you’d learn some things.”
On this she walked away, leaving Buffy a little embarrassed in front of her friends. She tried to sound cheerful, “She’s funny, huh?”
Cordelia mumbled,
“What a slut.”
“Hey watch your mouth!” Buffy interjected a little louder than she intended it to be so she added more gently,
“She’s a friend. We don’t talk that way about friends; that’s all.”
But Cordelia didn’t flinch,
“She’s maybe your friend but she surely isn’t mine. Hell, you’re not even mine.” She said looking straight at Buffy with raised eyebrows.
“Fine. Next time you’re in danger I’ll let you die.” On this Buffy got up and started walking away, but Willow caught up with her,
“Hey Buffy, please stay. Look she didn’t mean that, you know Cordelia and the way she is, right?”
“Yeah, whatever, it doesn’t matter.”
“Buffy, the thing is, ok Faith is a slayer and so I don’t mean to reject her but… face it, Buffy, we have nothing in common with her.”
Buffy felt very ill at ease suddenly. She would have liked to tell her friend that it was true but they still had to be nice, but the fact was, she wasn’t feeling part of the ‘we’ Willow just used. Not anymore, as much as she wanted to. She couldn’t feel in her element, neither with Faith acting so explicitly aggressively towards sex and life in general, but neither with staying with her friends right now. It made her head spin a little.
“Yeah, maybe. I’m kind of tired. Look Will, I’ll see you on Monday ok?”
“You’re not coming over tomorrow? We were supposed to study for the English test next week.”
Buffy really didn’t feel like it. She told herself that this feeling would be gone by the next morning so she gave her friend a nice smile,
“We’ll see tomorrow, ok. I’m gonna go for a fast patrol and back home. I’m kind of tired right now. I’ll call you tomorrow, Will. ‘Night.”
She left. Willow was slightly pouting, the only smile she had was by the thought Buffy would not be seeing Faith again that night but then again, she wasn’t convinced about that either and it wasn’t pleasing her. She couldn’t tell why, but she knew she had unpleasant feelings each time it was about Faith.
~~~
Buffy was wandering
in the streets of Sunnydale, she was thoughtful and at the same time
she wasn’t able to keep her mind on one particular thought. She
was now close to Restfield. She knew she was expecting to find the
younger slayer. She knew that her deeper self was eager for that
meeting, was eager to let the slayer in her express herself with the
slaying. She was eager to feel nothing else but that primeval
feeling, that animal instinct somehow. Everything Faith was
describing. She knew she was feeling it too. She hadn’t put
words to it before, so it was easier to repress it and even to think
it was just needed for the fight then gone. No, it was there,
always and she didn’t understand at first why Faith was so
eager to show it. Buffy knew she felt very bad towards the way she
could get, the way she could feel, so repressing it had always felt
like the good thing to do. But now that Faith was here, Buffy
couldn’t help feeling that part of her was showing more of
itself. She thought none other than her could feel it right now, but
it was already too much. She was upset by her own changes in the way
of thinking. And besides, she knew there was someone else who could
see through her actions, who could read into her eyes, read that
primitive passion and lust, Faith. That’s why she was always
scared to see her. Impatient and reluctant at the same time. She was
still very confused about the brunette girl’s behavior. She
didn’t understand all of them but she couldn’t help
feeling close to it, close to her. And despite the way that she
wanted to, she never could think in her mind anymore that Faith was a
slut like Cordelia said. Buffy thought to herself that she
should be thinking this but she wasn’t.
She was mad about
this behavior though. It was upsetting her, but not in that way
anymore. It was the first time Faith had been so explicit in front of
all the gang, generally it was all mouth, and mostly in front of
Buffy but this time -- Buffy knew deep down that somehow Faith did it
because she was here, because of her, on purpose. She didn’t
want Faith to continue on that path, that she was sure of, but what
could she say?
“Looking thoughtful, B?”
Buffy turned around and saw the brunette slayer standing right in front of her. She had changed clothes, she was still wearing dark pants but these weren’t leather. She had changed her white top for a red one this time and she wore no jacket. She had black boots and she’d put some make up again. Buffy wondered a short second why she was noticing these details, but she shook her head out of these thoughts. She didn’t reply and instead went on with a firm tone,
“It was short.” She said as she looked at her watch. Faith raised her eyebrows,
“Men last shorter than women, you know, B.”
Buffy frowned and her mind started racing inwardly at the meaning of the words, but Faith didn’t let her search forward into this,
“What about you, B? Not with the friends. Bet they’re all still there at this hour. I thought you’d come much later?”
“Had to patrol, someone had to do it, right? While you were itching your scratch.”
“You jealous, B?”
Buffy raised her eyebrows, unconvinced, and started walking further into the graveyard with her saint and holier-then-thou look on,
“It’s just not good for you, Faith.”
Faith followed her,
“Tell me why does it bother you so much what I do with my life?”
“It doesn’t bother me. It’s just… not right.”
Faith smiled, “Not right?”
She took a thoughtful look as she went on, “A couple of days ago it was wrong, now it’s just not right? What has changed, Buffy?”
Buffy took an ironic tone, “I know you dropped out of school, but when something is not right, Faith, then it’s wrong, you know.”
“Huh huh.” Faith said as she shook her head and went on, “You said not right, you could have just as easily said wrong, but you said not right, and believe me there’s a whole area of grey between wrong and right. Not right is in that area just like not wrong is, they’re the same. It could be both. Something tells me you’re starting to get that, right?”
“I’m not getting anything else but you talking nonsense now. None of this will change what people say, you know.”
Faith shrugged, “I don’t care what people say. You do, and I guess it’s not people; it’s the others, right? Whatever they say, whatever they call me I don’t care, Buffy, and they’re your friends, not mine. Despite what you’ve been trying to do, or convince yourself. I’m my own friend; I don’t need a gang, especially not a gang of hypocrites.”
“Hey!”
They were staring at each other, neither one of them softened her gaze, Buffy went on,
“I don’t know who is more of a hypocrite? You don’t know them. They’ve risked their lives numerous times because it was right; you know that thing we talked about. You do this just because it’s fun, just because you can and it matches your will. You don’t care about anything else but yourself. So don’t pretend you’re better than them.”
Faith remained silent, but her gaze was no less hard on the blonde girl who started walking away. Faith moved forward,
“Hey, where are you going?”
“Home,” Buffy just said without turning around. Faith looked on both sides of herself hesitating, gesturing a little before finally swallowing her pride,
“Ok, I’m sorry for what I said about them, ok?”
“Whatever,” Buffy just said, she was still walking away.
“Come on, B. Thought we oughta patrol, come on it’s gonna be fun. I mean…” Faith stopped as Buffy turned around, staring at her coldly.
Faith said with self confidence,
“I know you like that. You want to slay, with me. So ok, I won’t talk. We’ll just slay, ok?”
Buffy calmly told her, “Right now, Faith, I don’t want to be with you. And, since I’m not a hypocrite, I tell you. Goodnight.” She turned around and left. Faith swallowed then kicked on a grave tombstone.
“Fine,” She dryly said before going further in the cemetery and giving every creature of the night she met a very hard time.
PART 3
Buffy was very thoughtful on her way home. She had first thought about going back to her friends but she couldn’t do that either. She hadn’t lied; she didn’t want to be with Faith anymore at that moment because she couldn’t stand the thoughts in her mind, and this overwhelming burning inside. She knew her body was craving for a good slay like Faith was sometimes referring to, but listening to that craving inside was still looking too dangerous to Buffy. Barely acknowledging this craving inside was new to Buffy and right now she didn’t need more confusion.
She was just coming back to having a normal life. She had lost so many things, her innocence, her naivety, her… love last year and she’d lost herself; she’d lost herself so bad.
She had just come
back, in every sense of the term and the only thing she’d
wanted was to find her normal life again as soon as possible. But she
knew it wasn’t the same, it would never be the same. She had
that taste inside, a slight darkness that she couldn’t hide,
that she couldn’t reject, and that she couldn’t…
dislike… and Faith was pushing on these buttons. These exact
buttons Buffy didn’t want to even acknowledge first, but had no
choice to. Right now she didn’t want to deal with that. She
couldn’t share this with her friends because that wasn’t
something they could understand. But allowing Faith to make this grey
area break out some more was also out of question, but the thing is,
Buffy felt really influenced, really inclined towards it the more she
was with Faith, the harder it was to fight against it…
So
for tonight, she had preferred to walk away…
For tonight…
~~~
Buffy got up rather late this Sunday, it was past eleven. She took a shower and went downstairs. It was sunny outside but she had a rainy mood and just turned on the TV. The phone rang, and Joyce called from the kitchen,
“Buffy! It’s Willow.”
Buffy got up
“Hey Will, yeah, actually I’m not feeling too good. Yes I know but, look I haven’t spent much time with my mom lately so I think I’m gonna stay here today. No, yes, ok, have fun and tell the guys I said hi. Ok, bye.” She hung up.
Joyce was looking at her, a little surprised then said,
“This is nice of you, Buffy, but it’s Sunday, the weather’s been bad all week and today the sun is shining. Go have fun with your friend, I’m fine.”
“I know mom, but I… there’s plenty of things to do here and besides… I don’t want to go.”
Joyce raised her eyebrows,
“Any particular reasons why?”
Buffy looked innocently at her and told her with a too large to be true smile,
“No. I guess I just wanna spend sometimes with my loving mom.”
Joyce raised her eyebrows, “This time it’s really serious, right? Are you pregnant?” She said before slightly laughing like Buffy did, but then the young summers, with a more serious look, said,
“It’s ok. I just don’t want to go out today, that’s all.”
And she went back to the living room and watched TV for a while then she ate with her mother and helped her to do the housework.
It was past 4:00 in the afternoon when the phone rang again.
“Buffy! It’s Faith.”
Buffy tensed a little then relaxed and went to the kitchen,
“Hi. Yes, no. Not tonight, Faith. Because. Yes that’s an answer. Look I’m tired, ok?! Right, I didn’t patrol yesterday, but you did so the world is safe, right? No I’m not joking. No I’m not mad anymore; I mean I’m not mad. I wasn’t mad, ok? Look I can’t patrol tonight because… err, I’m going out, with Scott, tonight, so I can’t patrol. No, even after, I don’t know when I’ll come home and there’s school tomorrow so I guess I’ll see you another time ok. Yes, bye.”
Buffy hung up and was face to face with her mother who raised her eyebrows,
“So, when will I see that boy? It’s not an order Buffy, don’t worry. Is he picking you up here or…”
“He’s not coming, and I’m not going to his place. I lied. I’m staying home.”
She said very honestly before walking upstairs. Joyce followed her and knocked on Buffy’s door.
“Come in mom,”
Joyce just stepped inside a little bit. Buffy was lying on her back, playing with mister Gordo. Joyce smiled comfortingly at her,
“Is there a chance that you tell me what is wrong, Buffy?”
“Nothing’s wrong mom, don’t worry.”
“I do. You know I do. I know things have been hard Buffy and it’s still not easy for you. But if we can communicate better I can understand, Buffy, I can help you. I don’t want to know you are alone with so much pain, so much… heavy stuff on your mind, I don’t want to see my daughter so unhappy again. Never.”
Buffy could feel the genuine care and worries in her mother’s tone; she sat up on the bed,
“It’s nothing mom. It’s just… things are a little confusing lately.”
Joyce sat beside her, and listened attentively as Buffy went on,
“Since I came back I’ve been trying to… put the pieces back you know, my life, my friends, school, usual stuff. But it’s like everything I used to find normal, is harder now, like it’s not… it’s hard to explain but what seemed natural a year ago seems much more forced now. I’m trying to be and do the things I used to do but I’m finding out that…”
“You’re not the same as you used to be, right?” Joyce said and Buffy nodded before adding,
“Neither are my friends, my social life, my feelings, my relationships with people. Nothing is the same so I just don’t know in which direction I’m supposed to go. I guess things are pulling me to a place that is supposedly my evolution. I mean, we grow up, we change but I think it’s… scary, a little.”
“This is exactly that, Buffy, you move on, you go on, you change and things change around you too. You can’t hold on to what you had in the past because you’re never gonna find it again. You’ll find something else, it will be different but it will be your life as well, and you will change again. That’s called life, you know, moving on and growing up.”
“So you say I have to go with whatever flow I’m drawn to because it’s how my life is evolving?”
“I just say that it’s becoming more complicated and it’s only the beginning, but don’t ever think that it’s not the right way because it’s more complicated, Buffy. Everything will be more complicated as you go along and grow up. You just have to accept it and do your best with everything that comes to you.”
Buffy looked perplexed, she asked,
“What if… what if what I’m growing up to be is not…” She trailed off, her mother looked worried,
“What? Is not what, Buffy?”
“Good,” Buffy said honestly, she looked very sad. Joyce caressed her face,
“As long as you stay true to yourself you could never be anything else but good, Buffy. Is there something you wanna tell me?” Joyce still asked then she added,
“You can tell me everything Buffy. What happened with Angel doesn’t mean that you’re bad, or that you will be bad, Buffy, if that’s what you’re afraid of.”
Buffy just looked a little aside, she was thinking of these feelings inside, the way she loved to slay, the way she loved to feel that power inside of her, the way she loved to follow Faith, pretending that she led the dust fest and she was just here in case of emergency. She wanted to tell her mother as much she wanted to let go of these worries she had right now to trade them against a stake through a vampire’s heart right now. She remained silent though and Joyce held her tight…
~~~
It was the next day, lunch time. They were all in the library, researching when Faith arrived.
“Hey youngsters, don’t you never eat, been searching for you all over the cafeteria.”
Xander said,
“Great, means you’ve stolen someone else’s fries today.” The look on his face was serious despite his comment. She frowned at their grave look,
“Ok, who died?”
“No one, we can handle it.” Buffy said.
“You my watcher now?” Faith said moving forward, both slayers were staring at each other with a defiant look. Willow despite a frown felt a light smile spread on her lips.
“Actually, Buffy, Faith is not wrong. We might need her help, all the help possible to catch this beast and prove, well, you know.”
Oz was looking aside from the beginning as Faith had noticed and he’d just lowered his head. She frowned again, looking at him and Cordelia said,
“Oz ate someone.”
“It wasn’t Oz!” Willow exclaimed. The young werewolf left and Willow followed him.
“Nice move, Cordy.” Buffy said in a scolding way.
“What? Don’t tell me you’re not all thinking about this, right?”
Xander intervened, “Because the guy was ripped apart brutally, and because it was the night prior to the full moon and Oz’s cage window was open doesn’t mean that he’s the killer.”
Faith raised her eyebrows as she told Xander,
“I’m sure you understand now why they tell you to shut up, right?”
He nodded and walked away to get some book. Faith turned her gaze towards Buffy who was avoiding hers now. Faith then looked at Giles,
“So, what we’re doing now?”
The bell rang, Giles only stated, “Go back to classes.” As Buffy exited she never looked at the brunette slayer, followed by Xander and Cordelia who were already at the door.
“And you and I can try to see if there’s any specific information on the victim, what do you think?”
Faith slumped into a chair,
“Fantastic fun.”
She said sarcastically, and then started researching.
Buffy was surprised to find Faith still researching at the end of the school classes. She even learnt that she went to the morgue with Giles to see the body and try to prove Oz’s innocence, which for the moment was hardly the case. Faith didn’t look too much at Buffy and she didn’t make any harsh comment or anything. She was just doing her part, like the others. Buffy couldn’t help but smile inwardly, though she wasn’t very sure what this really meant.
When they all left, Faith didn’t ask Buffy if she was going on patrol, she just left too. Buffy started patrolling in the bronze area, admittedly expecting to find the brunette girl but she didn’t so she very quickly headed towards the woods, hoping to find whatever beasty it was that killed the guy. They were all hoping to find something else, to clear Oz and ease his and Willow’s fears.
She didn’t find anything, neither Faith nor any beast… She went back home a little brooding.
~~~
Next day started normally, she saw Faith arriving but the brunette backpedaled when she saw Buffy was eating lunch with Scott and his friend.
A little before the afternoon classes began Buffy came back to the library and found Faith there. Buffy looked around, Giles was in the office and the others were not here. Buffy pulled herself together and tried to sound firm,
“What are you playing at?”
Faith kept on reading the book she had in hands, not replying, she just shrugged with a sigh.
“What’s the new game?” Buffy asked again.
“No game, just doing my job, can you give me that paper over there please?”
Buffy was disturbed by Faith’s seriousness. Buffy handed her the piece of paper, it was the note Giles had taken at the morgue. Faith seemed to be really serious.
Buffy tried again,
“Why didn’t you come over when you saw me in the cafeteria?”
Faith replied naturally,
“You were with your boyfriend, and his friends that I don’t know anyway.”
“Since when did you become shy?”
“It’s not that, B. I figured out you’d rather be left alone, with him. I mean… Besides, I had stuff to do here. What - what are you expecting me to do, B? What’s wrong this time? For real?” Faith said as she stared into Buffy’s green eyes.
The blonde girl stammered a little faced with Faith’s honest question,
“Nothing, I - I just thought… Nothing.” She ended as the bell rang.
“I have to go. I have my appointment with Platt.”
“Yeah,” Faith just said and she looked at her paper again. Buffy looked at the floor before leaving.
~~~
They all skipped the afternoon classes after Buffy informed them that she found Platt, who had obviously just been murdered at his desk, which indicated it was a daylight crime, thus clearing Oz of the crime. They then very quickly linked the crime back to Pete and Debbie; Scott’s friends, thanks to Oz’s information as he knew Debbie and the first victim. And also thanks to Buffy’s knowledge of the girl’s dislike for Platt.
Later they managed to confront her but in the meantime Pete and wolfy Oz fought. They had to run after Oz while Buffy ran after monster Pete. She managed to push him hard against the shelf and a chemical reaction fell on him and poisoned him. Buffy found his girlfriend’s body on the ground. In the meantime Faith managed to shoot Oz with the tranquilizer just in time before he attacked Willow.
They were all in the library. Willow was looking at her wolfy boyfriend, asleep in his cage. Buffy rubbed her friend’s shoulder,
“Don’t worry Will, he’ll be ok.”
“I know. I’m glad it’s over. It was hard for him these past few days. So if he had hurt me or anyone else today…” She looked shaken.
Xander moved towards his friend,
“He didn’t, Will. Luckily Faith was here.”
Willow nodded. Buffy nodded too as she looked at the brunette girl who was standing back from the rest of the gang. Faith didn’t know if she should speak or maintain the rather cold atmosphere that there had been between the two of them when Buffy smiled at her,
“Yes, luckily she was. She is.”
Faith smiled back and they both focused on the others as a way to not stare at each other so intensely any longer.
~~~
The next day went by slowly. Faith didn’t show up at school or for patrol. Buffy thought about it, she hesitated but didn’t go to the brunette’s motel. After all she was the one who made it clear, kinda, that she didn’t want to hang around with Faith anymore, not as long as she would act this way. As much as the brunette had said that this way was how she was, she hadn’t tried to mess with Buffy anymore since then and she helped them the good way according to Buffy’s definition of the word and she’d let her alone.
Buffy told herself she was giving too much thought about this, about her feelings since she came back, too many thoughts about Faith’s behavior, her own. So she decided to go back home. Wednesday went by the same way except that Faith showed up later that afternoon, only because Giles called her. He had been informed about some demoniac activity in the town’s exit cemetery so he wanted to make sure the girls would go there together. Buffy couldn’t help being nervous, but seeing the brunette paying no extra attention to her and focusing on Giles’ directive she started to relax and then focused too.
They went on patrol. Faith remained quiet, asking once and awhile how school was and how Joyce was. Buffy found herself making most of the conversation in fact, but they were mostly quiet. Then they ran into 3 huge demons.
“Finally, here comes the fun.” Faith said, before throwing herself on the first two demons.
“Faith wait…” Buffy didn’t finish, then she followed almost instinctively, punching the third one. Both slayers ended up back to back, their fighting positions on and the three demons walking in circles around them.
“Tell me you don’t like this part, B?”
Buffy didn’t reply to Faith’s daring question but a wicked smile spread on her lips. Faith smiled too as she said,
“It’ll stay between us, don’t worry.” She said as if she could see the smile of the blonde girl who once again was amazed, and a little scared too, by this bond they were sharing. She didn’t have more time to think as the three demons attacked them. They fought for a long hard while to get rid of them but finally managed to.
Buffy thought Faith was back and that she would very quickly tease her about that hard fight and what state it made her in. Buffy was half expecting it with fear and excitement at the same time. The brunette started while still breathing heavily.
“Now, that was some fight,”
Buffy waited for Faith to go on which she did,
“Ok, mission accomplished, guess we can go home now. Night B.” The brunette turned around.
**Ok, what was that?!**
Buffy was surprised at her own thought, but it sure wasn’t what she thought Faith would say. As the brunette was walking away, Buffy tried to think of something to say,
“Ok, night Faith.”
**Huh??**
Faith just waved her hand in the air without turning around, leaving Buffy a little puzzled.
PART 4
Two more days went by the same way so Buffy willingly forgot about her uneasiness and the primeval feelings the arrival of the other slayer had created in her. She was back in her life, with her friends, with a new boyfriend. Everything was normal, she just had extra help for her extra curricular activities at night but it was just what it was. She wasn’t any different than her friends. Those were the thoughts she printed in her mind.
Yet she couldn’t help daydreaming at times during the day while her friends were talking, she was thinking about everything else but normal stuff, thinking about Angel, thinking about slaying, thinking about Faith, thinking about slaying with Faith. And at night, during the patrol she couldn’t help feeling more at ease doing it than she’d ever felt. Than she’d allowed herself to feel. Yet she paid no attention to that, she was a slayer, this was probably part of the outfit, a little different. But she was far from being… Faith. Other thoughts she printed in her mind.
~~~
Another week went by and the little release she’d felt with Faith’s wise attitude and her own convincing thoughts didn’t last long because she very fast ended up looking forward to finish her daily life to go on patrol with Faith. She had fun, she didn’t say it but she did. And worse, she knew Faith knew it. But strangely the brunette girl wasn’t saying anything about it, not yet at least…
Homecoming approached and far from her surprise Scott Hope broke up with her. She faked disappointment and surprised when talking to her friends about it but she knew she’d been far from the most attentive girlfriend. He was cute and nice but he was just part of a Buffy’s back in her life deal, she didn’t really choose him, she didn’t really like being with him. She didn’t have any real opinion on the boy and she hadn’t tried to make a real one anyway and, this, she knew it.
~~~
She was with Faith, after a long training session. She liked it, Faith had been the only one who didn’t get the sad Buffy-has-been-dumped face of the blonde slayer but the true Buffy-couldn’t-care-less-about-it Buffy face. They’d even been more joyful during their training.
Buffy gave one last big hit
“Oh man! Guys should break up with you more often.”
“Gee, thank you.” Buffy sarcastically said while heading to the book cage.
Faith went on while
setting down her pads,
“No, I mean it. You really got some
quality rage going. Really gives you an edge.”
“Edge girl. Just what I always wanted to be.”
Faith smiled,
“Come
on tell me that session wasn’t all goodness. I know you felt it
too.”
Buffy didn’t reply, not sure she was hearing a double meaning in that so she kept it quiet but Faith went on as she sat on the table.
“Well, screw him, alright? You move on, and… you party heavily, and you’ll be fine. I mean, you’re still going to that dance, right?”
“Maybe.”
**Didn’t it sound a lot like a yes?** Buffy thought.
**I hope she didn’t think it did.**
“You got the tix already. Why don’t we go together?”
**Ok, she did. God why did I look aside, damn I think I’m blushing. Now she is thinking I’m taking that as an invitation. Come on say something Buffy!**
“I don’t
know about that.”
**Right, because THAT helps. Come on
Buffy, and what’s with the shy smile, come on, react!**
Faith gave her a wicked smile and said,
“Come on. We’ll find a couple studs, we’ll use them and... discard them. That’s always fun.” She took a swig of her own drink, casually.
**Ok, didn’t see that coming. She’s the one who got me out of my embarrassing LACK of reaction, lack of firm NO reaction. I think she’s really understood what I meant that day in the cemetery.**
“Okay I’m
in. Not the stud-using part, though. Or probably not.”
**Ok
did some sound come out of my mouth just now? Accepting? Even more
playing? What’s my issue? Been trying to get her to stop
playing and I...**
Buffy saw the wicked
smile spread on Faith’s lips.
**I’m screwed.**
~~~
Buffy was walking slowly to the limo parked in front of the house. She was feeling very nervous. She had been all day. She’d relaxed a little while putting on her best make-up and her dress. She wanted to be beautiful, she had no reason why, Cordelia was the one who was competing for Homecoming Queen, not her. There had been a time she would have competed against her, and Hell sure she’d have won, but now she wasn’t even interested in the result, but she was nervous as Hell and couldn’t explain why. She knew who was in the car and it made her nervous, she knew that. ‘She’ was making her nervous. Buffy was about to open the door when it opened by itself. Faith had pushed it opened. She gave a cocky grin to the blonde slayer before telling her in a teasing tone,
“I’d have opened the door for you more properly but... people might think we’re on a date then.”
Buffy remained still, blocking any thoughts, and she just smiled politely,
“It’s perfect that way.”
And she got in the car. Her gaze immediately fell on Faith’s black dress and on her legs. She shook her head aside when she realized she’d stared a little too long. Faith smiled. Buffy looked at the window as the engine started.
Faith casually said,
“Nice dress. Not my colour but fits on you... well.”
They exchanged a gaze before Buffy said,
“Thanks. And by the way, your dress is beautiful too. Didn’t think you actually wore something else other than black trousers.” She said ironically.
Faith kept on smiling
and said in an interested tone,
“Come on, it’s not
the first time.”
Buffy thought for a few seconds,
“Yes there was
this one time you wore that very short tight black skirt with that
tank...” Buffy stopped and looked aside in panic while Faith
was smiling hugely.
**Why don’t you give the skirt’s
trademark when you’re at it**
“Anyway, didn’t know you had a dress. You don’t seem like the ‘homecoming night’ kind of girl.” Buffy said, a little aggressively as a counter attack against her own slipping. Faith remained smiling a little and said,
“I’m not but, remember... you needed a date tonight”
“No, what?!”
Faith burst out laughing at Buffy’s reddening cheeks.
“Chill, B. Kidding you,”
Buffy cleared her
throat a little, trying to pull herself together.
**How can
she get to me that way?**
Faith went on,
“Anyway, no, these things, never been really my thing but it’s yours right? Just like now, look at you, you look like a princess going to the ball, in her nice car, meeting her nice friends and her nice boyfriend, oh wait, have to take that part back, right? Why are you going there, Buffy? Really?” Faith said, a most serious tone during the end of the sentence, like she was erasing all the beginning of the sentence just with this question.
“I’m going to spend a nice evening with my friends. That’s what I like to do. There’s nothing unusual with that.”
“That’s really what you like to do?”
“YES.” Buffy said in a slightly exasperated tone. Faith sat back in the seat.
“Yeah,”
The car pulled over.
“Finally,” Buffy said with a sigh. They heard the front door open and close and someone leaving, then nothing.
“Ok, what’s going on now?” Buffy asked.
Faith frowned. They both went out of the limo to find themselves in the middle of the woods.
“What the fuck?” Faith swore before they both found out they were being hunted in the name of some big bad’s new game, ‘the slayer fest’.
They ran through the woods, faced several demons while trying to make their way to the high school in which they killed the last two demons hunting them, a couple of vampires and two killers, linked by computer to their chief. They gave the girls a run for their money but they succeeded to get rid of them. They cleaned their faces a little and joined the others just in time to see Cordelia fail miserably face to her two rivals.
They stayed a little while as the party was going on a little more. Cordelia was cursing everyone on the planet for their lack of judgment. Xander had to curse them with her. Oz and Willow ended up dancing as to get away from that. Faith was dancing too and curiously Buffy was with the cursing couple, glancing at the others once in a while. Faith was glancing at her too. They went to the bronze afterwards, once Cordelia was calmer. They were having a conversation at a table while drinking a coke. The election was the main topic as Xander and Willow, even Oz were trying to cheer the loser’s mood. Buffy was mostly silent and Faith was dancing wildly, as always, on the dance floor. Both slayers kept glancing at each other once in a while, even if Buffy was hiding it. She lost the dark slayer’s sight at some point. She tried to look on the left, on the right, in the back but she didn’t see her. She told herself it didn’t matter when suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder and a warm breath against her ear as Faith whispered,
“Tell me the first half of the evening wasn’t the best part...” And she left towards the dance floor again, with a coke in hand raising her eyebrows explicitly before taking her wild dancing again.
“What did she say?” Xander asked as none of them had heard, except perhaps Oz as he was beside her and his senses were more sharpened, and also, he looked like the guy who had heard. Somehow Buffy didn’t care. She was bothered, she was even pissed off. Not by Faith, not by anything else but by the fact that it was true. The slayer fest, as stupid and dangerous as it could have been had, indeed, been more exciting for her than the rest of the night and she hated to admit that to herself...
“She said she’s going to the restroom.”
“Ok.” Xander said.
Buffy looked at Oz and there was no doubt for her that he’d heard what Faith really said. Somehow Buffy wasn’t embarrassed, maybe because she knew he, more than anyone, could understand what it was to have something inside, some primeval feelings and to not want to let them out.
Faith came back ten minutes later,
“’K guys, time to go slaying some beasties.”
Xander frowned,
“Didn’t you have your share of slaying tonight already?”
“Not nearly enough.” Faith replied with a grin before looking at Buffy,
“Ain’t that right B?”
Buffy looked a little embarrassed, looking at her friends and she then said, trying to sound natural,
“Speak for yourself. I’m way done for tonight. I prefer to stay here with my friends.”
Faith kept on smiling and said with an irony only Buffy would get, Oz too now maybe though he wouldn’t understand it,
“K. Then I leave you to the fun, B. And I’m on to the boring part. See you.” She winked at her and left while Buffy started brooding.
She was even more silent for the rest of the night than she’d already been. She knew she wanted to be slaying right now, rather than here, but she didn’t want to give Faith the satisfaction. She didn’t want to acknowledge this.
Oz drove Willow home and Cordelia drove Xander home, Buffy said she wanted to walk so she left them at the Bronze’s exit. She was frustrated by this boring evening. She was walking absent minded on the street until she arrived at one of the town’s biggest cemeteries, she looked at it and immediately shook her head and started walking straight in front of her, blocking the thoughts -and need- invading her already as she was walking alongside the cemetery. But she was already slowing down and she finally stopped and turned her head to the side. It was deep dark, strange noises that only nights hold, then silence, once again silence only night can provide, silence and darkness that gives people a chill all along their spine, that make them walk fast with unease or just stay at home... Frightening, night, frightening graveyard that anyone wants to go away from....
Buffy had already jumped above the fence and she was in said graveyard already feeling her senses heighten, she was on slayer mood -and she liked it-.
She walked straight towards the deepest part of the graveyard, into the woods and she finally got something to slay, one, two and very fast a lot of them and she slew for a long hour, not stopping for a minute. Her chase led her out of the cemetery to the other side of the wood. She slew a last vampire that was on the ground and she got up with a pleased grin on her face and looked aside trying to figure out what time it was. She thought it was probably something like 1:00 or 2:00 so she decided to go back home, finally satisfied.
~~~
The next day at school. Buffy arrived with Willow and Xander. The blonde slayer looked very lively while her two friends looked tired. Cordelia and Oz were already here, they were looking at Giles training Faith. Oz immediately rushed to Willow and Xander moved closer to Cordelia while Buffy hopped effortlessly on the desk.
Giles, pinned against
the wall was desperately trying to get Faith to stop hitting his
training pads, he was pointing out the door, Faith finally stopped as
she saw the others, mainly looking at Buffy. Giles took the
opportunity to move aside welcoming the scoobies warmer as ever,
“Oh, you are here. Finally.” he ended very low.
He was slightly out of breath. Buffy smiled even more. He looked at his watch,
“Glad to see you on time, no actually, you’re in early for your training, this is something to remember.”
“You know me, all about duty.”
He raised his eyebrows sarcastically. Buffy was swinging her legs.
“God I wish I had a slayer’s constitution, I can’t believe you’re so peppy this morning, Buff.” Xander said.
Buffy just shrugged, “I’m just... the usual.”
Willow shook her
head,
“You’ve been talking and swinging and well,
yes, peppy ever since we saw you this morning though even I
had a hard time to get up today, and you know how much I love these
computer classes.”
Giles said,
“Oh,
so this is the reason why you’re all here?”
Cordelia and Xander
looked blasé but Buffy said looking playfully at them,
“Xander and Cordelia have to take these extra classes cause
really... they suck.”
Her friends gave her a quizzical look while Faith raised her eyebrows in a way-to-go-B, Buffy smiled then shook her head away from the brunette slayer and Willow went on,
“I’m just assisting Miss Benson with the classes and...” Willow hesitated as she looked at Oz who just said,
“I didn’t have anything planned so... where Willow goes...”
“You go.” Buffy completed and he nodded, Willow smiled.
“Good. Good.” Giles said distractedly while already checking books then he said,
“It is a good thing that you’re in good shape today Buffy, because Faith seems to be on extra good shape too. It must be a good slayer’s day.”
“I just had a good night of fun, it always puts me in good dynamic shape, what about you, B? How was your night?” she asked explicitly staring at her intensely.
“Err, I-I, well.”
“Fun with your friends, right? It was probably even better than mine... next time, I’ll stay with you.” She said winking at her.
There was no way she could know as Buffy was wondering but yet she knew, Buffy felt as if Faith could read through her. She knew Buffy probably ended up slaying some more. Buffy started smiling unwillingly as she reheard the end of the sentence, she’ll stay with her, she’ll stay -slaying- with her, even unwillingly all of herself loved that, when they were slaying together. She tried to focus on Giles who went on,
“Anyway, she’s in far too good shape for me and since I have to go downtown you’re gonna train together without me while I’m out.
A very short panic that she didn’t know where it was coming from went through Buffy’s mind for a short second as she stood straight and gulped, hiding it before smiling again,
“Ok.”
Faith smiled too.
Buffy got rid of her jacket, she was already focusing on the training fight so Willow, with an upset grin just said,
“See you later then.”
“Yeah later.” the blonde girl replied, not facing the redhead.
The gang left and Giles too while Buffy and Faith were already heading towards the center of the library.
PART 5
They were staring
predatorily at each other. Buffy said in a teasing way,
“You
should take a break before we start. Take a slow deep breath or it
won’t be fair otherwise, I’m so gonna kick your ass.”
Faith smiled,
“Careful B. You’re starting to sound a lot like me.”
“You think?” Buffy playfully said, as they were already walking in circle, like cats ready to jump.
“Yes, and I also think I look good on you. Don’t you?” she added with a wicked grin. Buffy cleared her throat as if she didn’t get the double meaning, but her shy smile always let Faith know she did.
“So, what put you in such a good mood today? What could have possibly happen in between yesterday evening’s mourning on your friends’ table and today?” Faith’s tone was very explicit.
Buffy shrugged, “Just fun with my friends, nothing else.”
Faith asked, still
daring,
“You mean, fun with OUR friends, right?”
Buffy pretended not
to get it as she replied,
“Will, Xander and the guys you
know.”
Faith started moving
a little closer,
“I bet you were itching, bored with them
whining when you could feel them, you could sense it. I bet
you were craving to get out and after them. I bet you cried out at
the first one you staked once you were out. I bet you went back home
early this morning, satisfied, or maybe not… cause, here you
are, wanting more...”
Buffy’s gaze had turned darker during Faith’s speech.
“You know what,
Faith. You talk too much.” Buffy said, not confirming nor
denying any of what Faith said, not traditionally speaking at least,
and with this she jumped on Faith who was slightly surprised, finding
her balance at the last minute before they started fighting against
each other. Unleashing, they both liked training with each other so
much inwardly. They were the only one against whom they didn’t
have to hold back. They had so much power inside, the gang knew they
were slayers but only the two of them could feel what it was. They
never said it, well Buffy didn’t, but she felt it. It was a
given for both of them. They knew what the other was feeling.
And
when she was like this, the power inside was too strong for Buffy to
hold it back or even worse, deny it. She knew it, she felt
embarrassed but she couldn’t help it. She always tried not
to be around Faith on times like this, but when she was, she could
feel it; it was an explosion inside, like a firework of power.
Linking blows and kicks and gripping each other, jumping backwards to avoid her feet, throwing her knee forward with Faith blocking it and trying to twist it. Buffy grabbing Faith’s head and pulling it forward making her bend…
A real fight for almost an hour. They’d started with casual blows and kicks, but the more they were into it the less space they were letting in between each other. Bodies touching, hands grabbing everywhere, everything. Purposely or not, Buffy couldn’t tell, not her moves, not Faith’s. It seemed instinctual and she preferred to see it like that. They were out of breath. Buffy fell on her knees. Faith on her back, trying to pull the blonde flat on her stomach, but Buffy tried to kick her with her leg, throwing it backwards. Faith managed to grab Buffy’s hands on her front and the blonde girl was face down and upper body to the ground, still trying to fight with her legs. Faith was lying on one of them, blocking it and she tried to put her tibia on the other one to block it too. She more or less succeeded in doing that, as she managed to block Buffy’s thighs. Buffy got one arm free, but Faith blocked it on her back and she moved almost completely on top of her, her thigh was just on Buffy’s crotch and the more Buffy was struggling, the closer Faith’s thigh was getting to her crotch so finally they were both silent, immobile, except for Faith’s thigh as Buffy realized Faith was still pressing and it wasn’t a slight feeling now.
“Faith?” Buffy asked after a while. The brunette slayer’s breathing was very heavy. She bent forward to the side of Buffy’s face, taking her time. The first contact of Faith’s breath close to her ear gave Buffy unwilling shivers.
“What’s
the matter B?” She said slowly, in her husky tone and she
added,
“Want some more?”
“I-I. Faith,” Buffy stopped, she felt Faith’s hand that was holding her arm on her back letting go of it and sliding to her waist, like a caress, or maybe just as a letting go way, Buffy wasn’t sure. She didn’t want to be sure.
“Faith, I think,” she trailed off then frowned and very quickly said,
“They’re coming!”
They both immediately pulled apart as the gang entered the living room. Faith was already up but Buffy was still on the ground, breathless and looking a little dazed.
Xander made his fake serious look as he stared at Buffy and said,
“Ah, something tells me she got ya, right?”
Faith smirked,
“You bet I did.”
Buffy had to look away due to the fact Faith’s gaze on her was burning hot. And what she felt inside was almost giving her cramps in the stomach. She had loved this time, all of it. She knew it. She hated to know it, but she had no choice but to acknowledge it.
She got up and just said,
“That’s just because you guys were coming, otherwise I would have smashed her.”
“Yeah right,” Faith said before heading to the door,
“Well school kids, have fun with your homework.” And she left, not looking at Buffy who was still trying to get the rush of power and desire she’d felt, out of her body.
~~
Buffy remained pent up all day long much to her friend’s despair. They entered the library after their last class. Xander slumped on a chair,
“Damn I’m so tired”. Willow sighed with the same look on her face. Buffy was still up, checking out the globe.
Giles looked at them and, "I don’t think one extra hour this morning can be that tiring, what is wrong?”
Xander raised his eyebrows, pointing to Buffy who was making the globe turn and turn around as fast as she could until one end broke and the globe flew across the room before crashing on the ground.
Xander sighed, “This, all day.”
Cordelia added
sarcastically,
“Luckily for us she trained with Faith a
little this morning.”
Giles looked at Buffy
and asked her with concern,
“Buffy, is everything alright?
Are you feeling a change in your strength or anything of that kind?”
“No, I’m just the same.”
Xander shook his head and Willow said,
“No you’re not, I mean, look at the gym class. Ok, you always win anyway, but this time you did not only win, you smashed us. Not one of us has been able to score. It’s like we were fighting against…” Willow trailed off but Cordelia ended her thoughts, their thoughts,
“The slayer.”
**That’s who I am. Wait, what am I saying?**
Buffy shook her head,
“I was just in a winning mood I guess,”
“But still,” Xander said.
“What? You prefer when I let you win?!” Buffy said, a little coldly. They didn’t reply and she told them softer,
“I’m sorry guys. I was… I was a little out of it today.”
**But it’s not right. It was me. God, no, what am I saying? These are my friends, they are what matters.**
“I’m sorry guys, I’ll be more careful.”
“Fine by me,”
Cordelia said and
Xander smiled,
“It’s ok, you’re our special
Buffy.”
**You don’t seem to like special me that much.**
Buffy thought,
“Thank you,” she said though, with a warm smile,
pushing her thoughts away and she said,
“How about we rent a movie tonight, together?”
“Sorry Buff, Cordy and I are actually going to see a current movie tonight at the Sun.”
Buffy looked at
Willow who shook her head,
“Sorry, too tired, got back late
yesterday. Not all of us have slayer’s recuperative powers,”
she said, trying to sound playful but her tone betrayed her still
upset mood at Buffy’s behaviour.
“Ok, then, I’ll just patrol for a while and go back home then.”
“See you tomorrow then.”
“Ok bye,” Buffy said as her friends turned around and left. She looked at Giles and said with hope,
“So, you went into town today, anything new? Some badness, it’s been quiet these days we have to stay on guard, right? You want me to check some stuff, right?”
Giles looked at her
with curiosity,
“Are you sure you’re alright, Buffy”
“Yes, no, I. I’m gonna go home. I’m starting to feel tired actually so I’ll just… go. Bye.”
She left very fast. She couldn’t stand it being looked at like she was an alien. Feeling stuff she knew no one else could feel… Except for Faith.
~~~
Buffy walked by the road to go to her house, 'she needed a good walk as she told herself since the motel’s were pretty far from her house'. She felt very anxious as she approached the motel’s room. She knocked, feeling a little excitement, a little fear. She knocked again. Still no replies. A third time and no response. Faith wasn’t in her room. Buffy disappointedly went back home, walking slowly.
Faith didn’t show up the next two days. Buffy wasn’t showing anything, but she was really eager to know what the brunette slayer was doing. And she was worried as well, but Faith had already spent several days without giving any news of herself and none of them had really noticed much. But Buffy was thinking about it, much more than she was willing to admit. She talked to Oz and asked him to go check on her *just to be polite* as she said. And just because she didn’t have the time, whereas he had a van, and that he shouldn’t mention that she asked him too *just because Faith doesn’t like to be watched over, that’s all*. He was to say that he was passing by and just checking. Mostly she knew Oz wouldn’t question her, or Faith about anything. He would go straight there to check as he was asked, the rest not being his business. He did and the next day reported that Faith was in her Motel and doing fine as far he could tell; she told him she was wired because she’d been out too late the past few nights.
“Thanks,” Buffy said before adding,
“It’s good that one of us checks like that, sometimes. To make her feel part of the team you know.”
“Huh-huh” He nodded as he raised his eyebrows. She smiled, a shy smile and ended,
“Well, see you later then.”
“See you,” he said and they both left in different directions of the corridor.
**Out too long these nights? Where? I patrolled everywhere. She certainly wasn’t slaying all night that is for sure.**
Buffy sighed then shook her head.
**Not my business anyway**
The rest of the day went by, and Faith didn’t show up. Buffy looked a little irritated to her friends’ opinion but she said everything was fine. She went straight back home to change and left her school stuff and then she immediately went patrolling, well, unwinding. The poor vamps that crossed her path that evening would have remembered that encounter all their nights if it hadn’t been their last one....
She was struggling with a demon for about 5 minutes before blocking its back between her lap and her arms and she had his head blocked by her arm. But instead of breaking its neck, she was giving him a big punch with her free elbow, hitting so strong that her bone was sinking into its back. The creature was groaning in pain. She lowered her knee to release him before punching him hard in the stomach with her knee again. She did that several times.
“Come on, off the poor thing already, this isn’t even funny anymore now.” Buffy stopped at the voice coming from behind. She slightly smiled and then looked ashamed for a short while, as the demon wasn’t even struggling in her hands.
She turned around, with still her ashamed look on, but as soon as she crossed Faith’s deep dark gaze, she returned to normal as a sort of power wave rushed through her and she broke the demon’s neck dryly, without even realizing it. She shook her head, looking at it on the ground. Trying hard to understand why it used to be the ashamed look that was considered normal in her mind before and now.... it was not, it was forced...
“Letting steam off, girlfriend?”
Buffy took a serious
look on,
“Simply doing my job, alone, always since you seem
way too busy doing God knows what?”
Faith smiled,
“I
knew you’d missed me.”
Buffy immediately
replied,
“Not a bit. But there is a lot of garbage in this
town. I thought I wouldn’t have to do it alone anymore, but
that’s fine. Did it that way for years, so that’s cool by
me.”
Faith moved closer,
“Really?”
“Sure.” Buffy confirmed.
Faith smiled and
raised her eyebrows,
“If you say so. By the way, you know
my address so next time you wanna check you can come by my place
yourself.”
Buffy had a slight
hesitation but remained serious,
“Don’t know what
you’re talking about.”
Faith moved closer,
very close,
“Sure you don’t,” she whispered
almost against Buffy’s face. Both girls’ breathing had
slightly increased.
“No, I don’t,” Buffy whispered too. Faith smiled wickedly and Buffy felt herself giving back the same smile. Faith stepped backwards,
“Well, what are we waiting for? It’s been long enough.”
They smiled and they both headed towards a hubbub that just echoed from the west side of the cemetery. They slew for several hours before ending at the Bronze, where they met the gang who had come there a little after school. Willow wasn’t very pleased because they had asked Buffy to come and she had said she wouldn’t but there she was, with Faith, and much more smiley as Cordelia pointed out which upset Willow even more.
The two slayers were on the dance floor, dancing very close to each other, with boys dancing all around.
“So now, how much did you miss me?!” Faith yelled over the music, Buffy, still dancing rhythmically replied as loud,
“Not a bit!”
They both smiled
knowingly at each other and Faith started to talk but the music was
very loud so she moved closer, putting her hand on Buffy’s
waist and they kept dancing nsync, very close while she asked,
“Why
did you send Oz and not Will or Xan-man?”
“Didn’t
send him,” Buffy said shaking her head, Faith made the same
movement of the head with a smile,
“I did not,” Buffy
said again with a laugh before turning her head aside.
Faith laughed too,
“I knew it. So, why him?”
“He has a van, that’s all.”
“Sure it’s not all.”
They were getting closer as they talked, Buffy now had her hands on Faith’s arms and Faith had both her hands on Buffy’s waist.
Buffy sighed and
Faith went on,
“You don’t want your friends to know
you’d rather be with me than with them.”
Buffy objected,
“That is not true!”
Faith smiled,
“Chill, I’m kidding you. Anyway, I don’t care
who you send cause I know I’m in your system now.”
“Stop talking nonsense, we came here to dance right? So let’s dance,” Buffy said, this being the only escape she found out of this conversation. That was ok with Faith. They kept on dancing, still half holding each other while being surrounded by boys.
In the meantime at the scoobies table, Willow frowned. She tried to stare even harder at the dance floor than she already was,
“What’s wrong, Will?” Xander asked.
“What is she doing?” Willow simply asked. Xander and Cordelia checked out the dance floor.
The girls were dancing, Faith had one hand on Buffy’s waist.
Xander shrugged, “What do you mean? They’re dancing.”
“No, look!” The girls were moving closer.
“They’re not dancing!”
“They’re talking, and dancing as well.” Xander said, still very casually.
“Buffy’s acting really weird lately, don’t you think?” Willow said.
Xander shook his head, “Not more than usual.”
Willow said in
exasperation what she’d been trying to get him to say,
“When
she’s with Faith, she’s acting weird, look at them!”
Faith was holding Buffy by the waist as they were moving rhythmically. You could see that they were talking as well.
“Come on Will, it’s very loud. They’re talking.”
“They could come here if they wanted to talk. Either you dance, normally, or you sit and talk. And what about her saying that she wasn’t coming, then showing up with her?”
“It is alright Willow, she just changed her mind,” Oz said, holding his girlfriend closer.
“If you want my opinion, Faith has a very bad influence on her... On many levels,” Cordelia said.
Xander gave her a don’t-add-anything look and that was enough to make her add, “And they’re definitely not dancing, well, not like we call it anyway.”
Willow pouted and drank her coke, while on the dance floor the two girls were still close against each other. The heat was building up, there were a lots of people on the dance floor now. They were all pressed against each other, the two girls only a little more than everyone else. Buffy could feel Faith’s thigh slowly making its way between her thighs, as they were bouncing right and left, and the brunette’s hands were on her skin on her waist now, under her shirt. It was sensual, and it was hot. It felt hot. Buffy’s head was spinning, but she was feeling good, it was a game, it seemed like a game that she was enjoying very much and she didn’t feel bad for enjoying it now... how bad could it be?
She turned her head towards her friends who were staring there and she slightly went out of her high state, Faith looked to the side too and they both parted, Faith immediately grabbed the first guy around, rubbing herself against him and... Buffy did the same, much less rubbing though, but still.
Xander spat out his
mouthful of coke,
“What’s she doing?!”
Willow sighed,
“Now
you react?! They were doing the same thing with each other 10 seconds
ago and it didn’t seem too bad then.”
Xander looked
baffled,
“But it was Faith, I mean, a girl. It’s a
girl's thing, you always hold hands and stuff, but that’s a boy
and she doesn’t even know him!”
“And so?” Cordelia said staring Xander in the eyes, he gulped,
“So, err…well, it’s great that she’s having fun with other boys. She can’t let that little Scott debacle get in her way, right? We all want her to find the right guy, so it’s great, she’s having fun, look, it’s good,” he said, sitting deep into his chair.
Willow sighed. Cordelia looked back at the dance floor,
“Well, if it was my friend, I would tell her something. Faith is definitely not someone to hang with. But I, personally, don’t care so I‘ll let people who do, say something to her before she gets herself a rep we wouldn’t want her to have...” She said, looking at Willow who sighed again, looking back at her drink....
PART 6
The next day at school, Buffy was looking by the window, she wasn’t very focused on the history class. She wasn’t sitting close to Willow and Xander, because she arrived late. She was in the back, when the teacher asked a question to the class. No one raised their hands. Buffy yawned.
“Miss Summers? I’m sure you have the answer, don’t you?”
She stared at him,
“The answer?”
“Yes Miss Summers, the answer to the question I just asked.”
“Oh, that answer,” Buffy glanced at Willow, who usually would be mouthing the words for her, but this time the red head was apparently writing in her book.
“The answer, yes, well, no I don’t have it,” Buffy said, honestly.
“What was the question Miss Summers?”
Buffy looked at the
blackboard on which were written some dates regarding the World War
II. She looked at him and tried,
“Well, when did US
soldiers stepped foot in Normandy?”
She heard some slight laughs, and she saw Xander raising his thumb at her in a good-to-see-you-in-my-place-this-time way. Whereas Willow was looking at her in a scolding manner. The teacher didn’t seem pleased, he pointed to the blackboard,
“This, Miss Summers, is the correction of questions 1 and 2 of last month’s homework which, by the way, you didn’t do. Today’s class was on the starting of the Cold War and more specifically on the Marshall Plan. I hope the sight outside is beautiful, I hope it brought you the knowledge you’ll need for your exam.”
Buffy, to her
friends’ surprise replied,
“If I might sir, books, or
eventually you, will take care of that. The sight outside is the
green grass on which I’m gonna go lay for a while, cause it’s
shiny outside and frankly sir, your class kinda gave me a headache.”
Students didn’t know if they had to laugh or be afraid. Some opted for a shy, tense smile. Willow was staring blankly at Buffy, as well as Xander. Cordélia was smiling in a it’s-getting-even-better way, as they waited for the teacher to reply. The bell rang. They started packing their stuff, Buffy too.
“Saturday morning, Miss Summers, detention, you’ll write me an essay on the landing in Normandy, since you seem to like that subject.”
She raised her hand,
“Count on me,” she said with her most ironic smile.
She left with the other students.
“Hey Summers, nicely done.” One of her classmates told her, before going his way. Willow and Xander arrived,
“Are you mad Buffy?” Xander asked,
“What’s going on with you?” Willow added, Buffy shrugged,
“It’s nothing, he’ll have forgotten it next week.”
“It’s Mister Taggart Buffy. If there’s one teacher you don’t mess with, it’s really him. Even I don’t make any comment with him.”
“Well I did and see, it didn’t kill me, right? So now let’s move on. What are you guys doing tonight?”
Willow looked pissed
off. Xander asked Buffy,
“What do you have in mind?”
“I thought we could go to the movie and then to the Bronze, I didn’t quite see you yesterday.”
“And whose fault is that?” Willow harshly said.
“I came late, didn’t think you’d still be there. I wanted to dance before they close, you know.”
“You call that dancing?” Willow said, Cordelia arrived behind and was looking at the scene with delight, and waiting expectantly at Buffy’s reply.
“What do you mean?” Buffy said, trying to sound not understanding.
Willow moved a little
closer,
“You know what I mean.”
Buffy sighed,
“We
were just having fun with these boys, that was just one night like
that.”
“Yeah, one night stand, that’s how they call it right?”
“Come on Will, you’re exaggerating, we danced for two songs with those guys and that was all.”
“Whatever, by the way, I wasn’t talking only about the boys.”
Willow pretended to leave and Buffy grabbed her arm,
“What do mean? Did someone say something?”
“No Buffy,” Willow glanced at Cordelia who was still enjoying the scene and the red head added,
“But I will. Honestly Buffy, since Faith has arrived you’ve changed and you know the rep she has. God you know how she is, and I must tell you that last night, and even today in class, you looked like her. At least, not like you. You’re my friend Buffy, that’s why I’m telling you this, you should avoid spending too much time with her.”
Willow left, Xander and Cordelia were now talking.
**Like her? Not like me at least? What am I then? I felt good, isn’t that being yourself if you feel good?**
Buffy looked thoughtful, then she shrugged,
“Whatever” and she left to go lie down on the grass outside the high school during break time…
~~~
Buffy skipped lunch, she was slightly brooding on the grass. Her eyes were closed and she was on her back. She felt a shadow above her and opened her eyes.
“Hey girlfriend, whatchya doing here alone?”
Faith was standing directly above Buffy, one foot in between the blonde girl’s legs, at the level of her knees. Buffy sat up.
Faith frowned,
“Oooh, that’s grave, what’s wrong? What are you
brooding about?”
“I’m not brooding.”
Faith looked at her
with a can’t-fool-me look. Buffy sighed,
“It’s
nothing. I had a bad morning I guess.”
“Yeah, seeing that you’re not with the others at the cafeteria means they’re have something to do with that, right?”
“No, they’re fine. I mean, Willow was slightly bad moody but it was fine. Classes sucked that’s all. I wanted to be alone, I guess.”
“Who could blame you, with the weather like this for this time of the year, I’d say they’re the fools not to be here.”
Buffy made a grimace,
“They never want to, they’re cold,” She
said with a hint of blasé mockery.
Faith smiled at her
and sat on her knees, on Buffy’s leg actually,
“Told
you. They’re not like us.”
Buffy didn’t
want to get into these thoughts,
“Anyway, what are you
doing here?”
“Well, it’s Thursday, so my original plan was to steal Xander’s fries but I guess I found something better,” she said, as she got up dragging Buffy up with her by the hand,
She said as she got up dragging Buffy up with her by the hand.
“What do you
mean? Hey what you’re doing?” Buffy said as Faith was
dragging her away from the school. Faith told her,
“I found
a nest earlier. Thought it could wait for this evening but I think
you can’t wait till this evening, right?”
Buffy hesitated,
looked at the school,
“Come on girlfriend, it’ll do
you good.” Faith said.
“Ok, but only if you stop calling me that way.”
Faith moved closer,
grabbed her by the waist and whisper into her ear,
“Alright,
gorgeous.”
She walked backwards,
“Now let’s go B.”
She started leaving, Buffy sighed in a nice-scolding way and after a last look at the school she followed her.
~~~
Buffy came back home at 6pm with a huge smile on her face, there was a hole on her sleeve but it seemed to rather please her. She was thinking of the fight she’d had with Faith against some demons in the sewer and she had fun, so that was only a good memory to her. She stepped inside to be immediately face to face with an angry looking Joyce Summers.
“Hey.”
“Where were you Buffy? This afternoon, all afternoon.”
Buffy showed her arm,
“Sorry, big bad came in at the last minute, couldn’t
wait.”
Buffy stepped further
inside thinking that was ok, when Joyce added,
“After the
principal called me, I called mister Giles to see if there was any
trouble. I don’t need to tell you he wasn’t aware of your
departure from school either so what do you have to say now?”
Buffy felt bad
suddenly, she then said,
“It was an emergency; Faith came
to tell me. We didn’t have the time to warn anyone. Ask Faith,
she’ll tell you.”
Joyce sighed,
“No
need to. To Faith a single vampire showing up in a cemetery would be
enough of an alarm to happily start a war,” Joyce said half
seriously, with a blasé tone.
“What’s wrong with all of you and Faith?! She didn’t do or say anything bad to any of you and you’re all coming down on her!” Buffy said, slightly losing her temper.
Joyce looked surprise
at her daughter’s outburst, but then she looked angry,
“Firstly you take another tone with me. Secondly, I don’t
know who any of you are or what any of you said. I like
Faith, you know that, but she’s not responsible for much apart
from the slaying. She’s carefree because she doesn’t have
classes to go to, exams to pass, all these things that you
have to do, that was what I meant.”
Buffy looked
embarrassed,
“I’m sorry mom.”
Joyce’s gaze
softened,
“Ok. Now tell me what is wrong? Maybe I can
help.”
“Nothing’s wrong,” Buffy said in a resigned tone while going to the stairs.
“Nothing’s wrong. Sometimes I’d like to be carefree too. I wish that I didn’t have all these responsibilities, being the slayer’s enough of a big one, I’d do very easily without the rest.””
Buffy was at the top
of the stairs, Joyce frowned a little surprised,
“You mean
you’d do easily without the slaying honey, right? Your life
without the slaying.”
Buffy looked at her
mother with a gaze Joyce didn’t really understand,
“Yes
mom, that’s what I meant,” she said, toneless before
going to her room.
~~~
A few days went by. Buffy acted casually with her friends. Willow was still a little cold the day after, but things went by ok then. Faith didn’t show up for two days as well **as if she’d felt the tension was about her** or so Buffy thought.
Anyway, it was a good thing for Buffy. She tried to focus herself on her classes and her friends. Faith came back the third day, acting completely Faith-like, stealing food on Xander’s plate, talking about the vamps she dusted the night before and the fun she had at some party after that… She didn’t stay long and walked away the same way she came without Buffy acting any differently. The scoobs planned for a movie night, which they did…
Next day was Saturday morning. Buffy came to do her detention, as she’d decided to be good and do it to make amends. So she was here with the rest of them. When the bell rang Xander, Cordelia, Oz and Willow went to the Saturday morning computer class, while Buffy meant to go out of the library to the detention classroom when she remembered something,
“Damn I forgot to take that history book, might be useful cause I have no idea what I’m gonna write otherwise.”
“Ok, see you later Buffy.”
“Have fun with the comp!” She laughed at them.
Xander smiled too,
“Well, honestly Buff, I’m gonna have more fun than
you will, this time.” Buffy raised her eyebrows in agreement
and she stepped back inside the library and stood straight,
“Or
not, sorry Xan,” She whispered as she was looking at the
brunette slayer staring at her from the top of the stairs,
“Hey girlfriend, thought you said you were not going to this detention?”
Buffy smiled,
“Then
what are you doing here?”
Faith walked down the
stairs while saying,
“Well, I kinda know you now, I knew
you’d come.”
Before Buffy could
talk Faith added,
“Or rather, I knew you would miss it…
but you didn’t know that yet.”
Buffy gave her a
fancy that look and said,
“You seem awful sure of
yourself on that one. I’m picking up a book and I’m gonna
work.”
“No you’re
not.” Faith got rid of her jacket and threw it on the banister
while moving closer saying sensually,
“We’re gonna
train, it’s been a while, come on.”
“Faith I...“ Buffy looked hesitant, she knew what she wanted to do but she knew what she had to do,
“I can’t, I have to go. I’m gonna get into trouble otherwise.”
“Trouble? School? Come on, you know what trouble is, real trouble, you, me, bunch of vamps, trapped in a cave somewhere; that’s trouble, wicked fun trouble, but trouble, come on… anyway, tell me Blondie… where’s history?” Faith said showing the row of bookshelves behind her…
Buffy looked at them, with hesitation, she was trying to remember, but she doubted she ever knew it…
Faith smiled, “Just tell them you got lost.” She said with a joyful irony. Buffy smiled,
“I shouldn’t do that.”
Faith smiled,
“No
you shouldn’t, but you’re going to, and isn’t that
even more fun when it’s not allowed, B.”
Buffy didn’t reply, but the gleam in her eyes wasn’t lying. She got rid of her jacket,
“Come on, I’m gonna show you what I got.”
“Ooh, I can’t wait.”
They started training, hard. They both hadn’t patrolled that much the previous nights. When they weren’t together it didn’t feel the same and it was just… patrol. At least for Buffy that’s how it felt now. She was enjoying it fully when sharing it with Faith.
They were equals, punching and kicking for about an hour until they got closer, twisting and squeezing more often on the ground. They were out of breath but still fighting,
“Oi!” Faith screamed, as Buffy twisted her arm, Faith punched her in the stomach with her other hand,
“Ouch!” Buffy’s breath was cut for a few seconds and Faith pinned her to the ground. Buffy wrapped her legs around the brunette’s stomach to flip her aside, but Faith struggled and took hold of Buffy’s leg to keep her to the ground and she pinned her again and moved on top of her. She blocked her hands above her head,
“What you’re gonna do now, B?”
Buffy tried hard to
push her aside but it didn’t work,
“Come on
girlfriend, you’re not even trying,” Faith said, with a
contented smile. She sat up on top of Buffy, straddling her while she
had her feet behing her blocking Buffy’s thigh to the floor.
“I already told you, don’t call me that,” Buffy just said.
Faith smiled, “And why, girlfriend… Do you think some people might find it… compromising?”
“Just don’t,” Buffy said, not in any real ordering tone.
Faith smiled, Buffy relaxed under her, she wasn’t trying to reverse positions anymore but Faith didn’t release her grip though, for a long while, as they were staring at each other. After a while she finally let go of her wrists and sat up straight on her crotch. Buffy didn’t remove her hands from above her head though and Faith moved one hand to Buffy’s collarbone then moved it down slowly while going on,
“You think people could have some wrong thoughts about you… and...“ she paused and stared at Buffy, who looked caught between two different reactions, pushing her away and keeping her stare on her.
Buffy’s shirt had been torn apart a lot during the fight and three buttons were missing on the top. With the way she was lying down, her white bra was exposed.
“By the way, you shouldn’t dress up like that, you know…”
Faith’s hand was now reaching the side of her breast and she ran her thumb on it, almost touching Buffy’s tit above the bra. Buffy suddenly moved and Faith didn’t resist or block her. She moved aside at the same time. Buffy put her shirt back in place correctly. She looked at the clock,
“I have to go.” She said and picked up her jacket and her bag then left… Faith went back to her motel room.
Buffy went to the detention classroom, late of course. She tried to focus on her forced homework but she couldn’t. Her mind really was on something else and the butterflies in her stomach were making it hard for her to even try to focus on something else than what happened… and what she’d felt.
PART 7
Buffy was called by Willow during the night, as Cordelia had been brought to the hospital. Buffy, once there, learned the whole story, by a very sad and ashamed Willow, who told her that she and Xander had been flirting a little lately and they were at the school earlier before a bowling night. She had tried to use magic, but Oz and Cordelia arrived while they were kissing in the class room. Cordelia left running and she fell outside, because of the dark, and impaled herself on a metallic bar towards an area under construction.
Buffy was very
surprised, she hadn’t noticed a thing. Willow and Xander had
appeared a little more jumpy lately, but Willow had been way more
focused on being jumpy at everything Faith-related… While all
this time she was playing the naughty with – no, no, no Buffy
told herself.
**you’re not going this way, you’re
best friends need you now. You’re gonna be here for them**
And she was….
They spent the next week almost always together. The two were brooding a lot. Cordelia was still in hospital, refusing to talk to Xander. And Oz had made it clear he wanted to be left alone for the time being.
Buffy was going on
patrols with them as well, like old times, it seemed to be making
them happier somehow.
Faith was aware cause she’d showed up
during the week, and saw the killing mood in the atmosphere. She had
asked Buffy what was up and she told her. From then on she’d
decided to go stay where the fun lays as she’d said, and
they didn’t see her for another week. Buffy even started to
think nothing really weird happened, or nothing ab-slayer-normal
happened. To others it could seem abnormal, out of place. But in
fact, Buffy didn’t think it was… And it was just like
that.
Faith didn’t seem to care and Buffy had found herself easily going on with her life despite this happening. So ‘this’ wasn’t so much of a big deal after all, it simply was. It was nothing really. This is how she was seeing it now, that and everything else that she’d felt. Things didn’t look the same to her. She’d grown up since last year and since Faith’s arrival, many things didn’t look ‘so much of a big deal’ now…
They were patrolling,
Buffy, Willow and Xander. Well mostly talking really, when Buffy
turned around abruptly when she heard something. She was suddenly
face-to-face with a sexily dressed and heavily made-up Faith.
She
grinned at them,
“Hey,”
“Faith,” Buffy said.
“Yes, that’s my name.”
Buffy smiled and finally relaxed from her fighting position.
“Hey Faith, searching for the client?” Xander said. Willow elbowed him and whispered, though both slayers could easily hear it,
“Remember that thing we said about us being nicer to her?”
Faith smiled,
“Wow
Red, you must be really feeling guilty. That’ll teach you
playing the naughty.”
Buffy looked at Faith
in a scolding way, then shook her head and as normal asked,
“What
are you doing here?”
“Patrolling. Well trying to, but you’re making so much noise babbling that every vamp has flown away already. Too bored to even try to bite you.”
Being nice with her was really gonna be hard, seeing the way Willow was staring at her right now. Though she was still smiling as if Faith had said nothing.
“Well, too bad for them. They’re missing a good acupuncture lesson,” Buffy said, to ease the atmosphere as she was playing with her stake, immediately moving on,
“Wanna join us
with the boring talk.” Buffy turned around to look at the not
happily surprised Willow and Xander as she added,
“Hey
guys, I’m kidding.” and she turned around to Faith,
“But still, it would be good to have you with us for once.”
“You missed me, B?”
Buffy half smiled,
“No. It’s just good to know you’re still alive,
that’s all.”
They both smiled at each other and the group started walking again, until they came across a huge group of vampires. They fought against 5 of them while about 10 others left for a cave. They dusted three and the two others went away. The girls decided they had to look further into it, though disagreeing as to when; Buffy wanted to wait for the morning and Faith wanted to follow them right now. Because of Willow and Xander, they waited and brought their friends home instead. But the two wanted to participate; the next day wasn’t a school day, so Buffy said they would all come here in the afternoon at 3 pm, with Giles and more weapons.
Buffy arrived a little later than 3 pm, but no one was there. So she decided to wait when suddenly Faith came out of the cave in a rush and looking rather panicked.
“Buffy, come on, they’ve got Willow and Xander!”
“What?!” Buffy exclaimed.
“I think they were here real early and I don’t know why, but I think they stepped inside to check. I saw the door was open when I arrived, so I checked. Just in time to see them force Xander and Willow into a tunnel. I didn’t see Giles.”
Buffy looked very
stressed,
“God, I should have been here earlier.” She
was putting stakes in her sleeves and getting ready.
“Come on,” Faith told her, knowing Buffy wouldn’t hesitate to go into the cave since her friends were trapped in there.
The slayers walked for about half an hour in different tunnels when they heard noises. They very quickly hid within a short cavity. Buffy’s face was at the edge, as she was trying to see, and Faith was glued against her back, as both were crouching down.
“How many?”
“Sssh,” Buffy just said, as the vamps were passing by close to them.
Faith whispered very
low,
“Come on, let’s take them.”
Buffy was looking
very serious,
“Faith, they’re about 25 in there.
Besides I don’t see Will and Xander yet.”
Faith smiled,
“They’re probably brooding at home right now…
or maybe they’re making out.”
“What!” Buffy said immediately putting her hand on her mouth and checking that the vamps weren’t around. Fortunately they didn’t hear her though some were coming near, now they really had to be quiet.
Faith said, as if she didn’t get what Buffy meant,
“You know, with them flirting and the others breaking up, maybe they decided to stay together.”
“Faith,” Buffy said in a I’m-getting-really-pissed-off-right-now-so-stop-playing tone so Faith admitted,
“I called them, told them it was taken care of.”
“What! Are you retarded or what?” Buffy whispered, Faith smiled and she moved even closer, and put her hand around Buffy’s waist on her stomach. Buffy held her breath and Faith said,
“Come on, isn’t it more fun when it’s just the two of us?”
She slightly caressed Buffy’s belly button with her thumb. Buffy was trying to remain focused on the twenty some vampires all around. Faith went on in her most sensual tone,
“Come on Buffy, let’s fight them, you know you want it.”
“No, now we just wait for them to get out and then we’ll follow. We can’t take them here, it’s a tight space and they’re too numerous.”
“Bullshit.” Faith whispered a little louder.
“Now keep it quiet, end of discussion.” Buffy said.
They remained quiet for a short time while the vamps were just beside them.
“Please.” Faith begged sensually.
“No, sssh,” Buffy whispered, trying to remain focused, though Faith’s hand was still fully present on her stomach. Buffy could feel Faith’s breath on her neck more and more and she was trying to keep her own breathing steady, while Faith’s hand was moving down slowly. Buffy was concentrating hard not to make any move or any noise; she was ready, no matter where Faith’s hand would go. She was anxious, but ready not to let anything put them in danger. Faith’s hand was at the hem of her pants. Buffy was focused, very focused on that hand and acting like it wasn’t going where it was apparently going. Focused, very focused. She was so expecting it to go to her crotch.
“Ah!” Buffy gasped at Faith’s tongue licking her from her neck to her ear. She wasn’t expecting this.
“Thank you!” Faith said as she moved before her, heading out of the cavity since the vamps had heard Buffy’s gasp. Buffy shook her head disappointedly but not for too long since the battle had already started outside her hide-out. She had no choice but to join her fellow slayer.
They fought for about 40 minutes, but finally managed to take the upper hand and the last 5 or 6 vamps ran away. The girls were on such a rush, tension, adrenaline and everything…
“Yes that’s right, run chicken. Wooo hoo!” Faith shouted in post battle excitement.
Buffy finally took a deep breath, then they stared at each other.
“Are you crazy!!?” Buffy shouted, in an attempt to take things were she left them and not dwell on the state they were in now.
Faith pinned her hard against the wall with a contented smile, though she was still out of breath. Buffy couldn’t talk anymore and Faith said while shaking her head,
“No B. Can’t play that part, not with that gleam in your eyes, not with that rush in your blood, can’t fool yourself now, can’t do that.”
Buffy didn’t want to look at her,
“Let me go,” She just said. She knew she could easily free herself with her own strength, but she didn’t want to use her strength to do it, not her physical strength, it had to be mental. But she knew Faith was right, so she knew she couldn’t make her back away cause she didn’t want it enough.
Faith moved closer,
“Wasn’t that thrilling?” she whispered sensually, before doing what she previously did, that is, lick Buffy’s neck up to behind her ear then sucked on her earlobe. Buffy couldn’t help a slight moan.
“Buffy?! Buffy? Faith?!”
The girls parted immediately at Giles’ voice. He was trying to find them.
“We’re here,” Buffy said, getting out of her daze as he arrived,
“Thank God you’re safe.”
“What are you doing here?” Faith asked.
“Well, I knew you’d taken care of them, but since they were so numerous I wanted to check on the tombs to see if there wasn’t anything written about a cult of vampires or anything. So I hid when I saw a group of vampires coming fast. Then I was afraid for you, because I understood there was a fight. Why didn’t you call?”
The girls looked
hesitant, Faith said,
“Well, we thought we had them all
this morning, during their sleep you know. Comes out, there was a
bunch of them hiding a little further in, but not too many, it was
ok. B and I kicked their asses easily.”
Buffy looked very ill at ease. Giles frowned as he was checking on the girls, they were rather bruised and their clothes were torn apart in several places.
“Easily huh?” He said.
Both girls raised their eyebrows and they went out of the cave, dusting two more vamps on their way.
Giles brought Buffy home as she said she was tired. She avoided looking or talking to Faith on the way home. The next day, Sunday, Buffy remained at home and Faith didn’t call or show up either.
~~~
Monday came and Faith still didn’t show up, Tuesday went by the same way. Buffy was extremely anxious at the idea of seeing her again. She knew the brunette girl would show up at some point. She was inwardly panicked, not so much at seeing her, but mostly at the fact that the brunette slayer was able to render her passive. Faith was having such an effect on her; Buffy didn’t understand why she was yielding so much control to the other slayer. She thought she was able to control it, but she was realizing she didn’t know anymore where the limit stood between game and dirty realit now. For that was how she thought of it that way, if it wasn’t a game. That was why she didn’t… no couldn’t see Faith.
Besides, she still had to cheer up Willow and Xander’s mood. Cordelia had already come back to school, but she didn’t want anything to do with them anymore and Oz was very… absent right now as well.
“So, that’s settled then, movie tonight, right?” Buffy told them, as they were heading out of the school, they all smiled.
Xander asked, “So what are we gonna watch?”
“Heard there was a good X-rated movie at midnight.”
They all turned around in surprise at Faith’s comment. Surprised to see her rather than by her comment in itself, it was Faith after all.
“Hey Faith, how are you doing?” Xander asked, while Willow just nodded. Buffy didn’t speak, she remained a little to the side.
“Paying a visit to my fav studs. So movie time as I’ve heard. I guess I’m invited, right? Great, so what are we gonna see?” Faith said, putting her arms around Willow and Xander and already moving forward, leaving Buffy at her discomfort just walking behind them.
The scoobs entered the theater; Faith was buying the pop corn so she arrived after. The three of them were already seated. Willow, Xander and Buffy. Faith smiled, she jumped above the seats to sit directly beside Buffy who gave a jump.
“So, what’s up, B?” Faith said, keeping her stare on the blonde girl who was looking at the screen which was still turned off though.
“Err, well, the usual.”
“Haven’t seen you patrol much these days? What’s wrong, girlfriend?”
Faith said, as she purposely put her hand on Buffy’s arm. Buffy looked at her friends, in case they’d picked up on anything.
“You seem very jumpy B, today,” Faith told her, with a wicked grin. The lights turned off and the trailers started. Buffy just moved her arm away.
“No, I just want to see the movie, that’s all.”
Faith raised her eyebrows nonchalantly and sat back in her chair.
The movie finally started, they were all quiet. After about 15 minutes, Buffy felt a hand; Faith’s hand, on her thigh, close to her knee. Buffy’s first reflex was to hide the scene from her friends so she put her jacket on her lap. She mentally slapped herself for her first reflex not being to remove Faith’s hand. And at the same time it wasn’t easy cause she really didn’t want Willow or Xander noticing anything so she couldn’t yell or make big gestures.
A minute after she felt the hand moving away from her thigh, she now felt it moving towards her crotch. Buffy was trying hard to focus on the movie. Faith’s hand remained on her groin, as Buffy felt her breathing begin to slightly increase. The hand moved aside some more, almost completely on to Buffy’s crotch, despite the blonde slayer squeezing her legs the best she could to leave no room. Buffy took a deep breath, as she felt Faith’s fingers slightly pressing on her crotch. The brunette was now teasing her above her pants. A million thoughts were crossing through Buffy’s mind, how she could allow this and mostly how she could be turned on by this. The slight pressing finally stopped to Buffy’s relief. But the hand remained there and after a short minute Faith’s hand started tugging at the hem of Buffy’s pants. A wave of panic overwhelmed Buffy at the thought of what Faith was doing. A first button undone.
“God,” Buffy let out.
“What’s wrong, Buffy?” Xander asked, Willow too, Faith had removed her hand quickly. Buffy looked embarrassed, but she managed to find a way out of this,
“This girl over here is too tall, please Xander, can we swap seats?”
“Ok,” He said and they swapped so that Xander was sitting beside Faith. Buffy crossed Faith’s gaze once during the swapping. The brunette wasn’t looking as victorious as Buffy thought she would. She looked… not so thrilled actually but still so sensual, as Buffy thought. It was looking less and less like a game. Faith smiled and finally winked at her. There, that was better. Buffy liked it better if it looked like a game…. It seemed less wrong that way….
PART 8
The rest of the week went by. Buffy managed to avoid being alone with Faith quite well. Faith called during the weekend, but Buffy used the Christmas shopping as an excuse for not being free. Christmas was next Friday.
The week started,
Buffy went shopping with her friends too after the classes, sparing
her from being alone with Faith who only showed up twice anyway. They
had training on Tuesday, but the others were there, mostly Giles who
was training them, so except for hidden innuendos and slight touches,
nothing bad happened.
Buffy realized though that she was
frustrated by this situation. She was scared of what might happen if
she were alone again with Faith, but being with her and the others
made her ill at ease and all she wanted then was to be just with her,
to be… herself finally, but she was too scared of what that
could be to choose that option right now.
It was Christmas, Willow had prepared something special for Oz as they had just reconciled. Xander was on a non-family calm trip. And Buffy was about to spend a quiet Christmas with her mother, so she thought, when suddenly the bell rang.
“I’ve got it,” The young Summers said, heading to the door. She looked very pale as she discovered who it was. Faith was standing there,
“Hey,” Faith just said. Joyce arrived behind Buffy,
“Faith hi, I’m glad you could finally make it.”
Buffy looked at her mother in surprise, Joyce made Faith enter and then closed the door, before giving her expectant daughter an explanation,
“I called Faith earlier this week. I hoped she might come spend Christmas with us. I felt very bad letting her alone in that horrid little motel room when she could be here with us. She wasn’t sure she would come, so I didn’t tell you. I wanted to surprise you,” Joyce was smiling hugely.
“That’s a
surprise, indeed.” Buffy said, trying her best to look happily
surprised. She wasn’t mad or anything but as always, having
Faith around was complicating everything, or so she thought.
Faith
just raised her eyebrows innocently, before entering the living room.
Contrary to what she thought, Faith was very nice and never made any improper gesture or word; she was very helpful with Joyce.
Buffy relaxed after a
while and even talked with Faith a lot, when Joyce was in the
kitchen. They were talking like they used to do in the beginning.
Talking about the scoobs, the slaying, Giles, the training, how much
school sucked. They were very comfortable together, the three of them
all evening long. Buffy and Faith were glancing at each other with
shy, sometimes blushing smiles, mostly Buffy, by just the look of the
other.
It started to snow outside, but they were playing society
games and they didn’t pay too much attention at first. When
they realized, snow was everywhere, a lot of snow Faith commented,
“Wow, I guess I’d better get going now or I won’t see the pavements anymore, well, can’t see them that much already but still…” Faith said with a frown as they were on the porch.
“No way,” Joyce said, “You’re staying with us tonight.”
Both slayers looked at her.
“But mom,”
“Don’t tell me we can let her go with all this snow Buffy, and look how much it is still snowing honey?”
“Err, no, yes I know.”
“But it’s ok miss Summers, I’m a slayer, remember?”
“No 'I’m a slayer' with me. I wouldn’t let my daughter go out there alone under such weather on Christmas day. So I’m not letting you go, slayer or not. . I’m the grown up, here, ok? And call me Joyce.” Joyce said in a playful sarcastic tone.
Faith smiled,
“Thanks, Joyce. For everything, I mean, inviting me and
all,”
Buffy couldn’t help a slight smile at Faith’s innocent look right now, she was grateful, it was obvious but she wasn’t the 'showing type' so it was funny. It created an awkwardness in her that was very candid. Faith looked at Buffy, who immediately stopped smiling. Trying to hide the fact she was looking at Faith that intensely. Faith smiled, as she had noticed,
“Seems like you’re gonna have to put up with me for the rest of the night girlfriend. Think you can handle it?”
There was that challenging tone again. Hence the waves of panic crossing through Buffy’s brain once again as she was moving back inside the house with Faith.
“I’ll bring another pillowcase in your room, Buffy.”
“Ok. Huh what?!” Buffy said, suddenly realizing what her mother said, “I mean, why in my room, I mean.”
“Buffy remember, the spare room is full of junk, plus some of last week’s art exhibition pieces are still in there that I still have to send back. Oh and by the way, I will need your slayer help for that cause these things are heavy.”
Faith started laughing, only to Buffy’s understanding.
“Well, err, we can do that now, remove them and all, so that Faith can have the room.”
“Buffy, I will only remove them when I’m ready to send them back, so really not at 1 in the morning on Christmas day, what are you thinking?”
Faith held back her
laugh to say,
“It’s ok Miss err, Joyce, I’ll
sleep on the couch, it is totally fine by me.”
Buffy was surprised
by Faith’s comment but Joyce went on,
“I know you
think you’ve put on some weight, Buffy,” Joyce playfully
said, “But I still think you and Faith can fit in your bed,
don’t you think?”
Faith moved forward, “I don’t take that much place, you’ll see, you won’t even know I’m there.” Faith said, as she followed Joyce upstairs.
**I’m so screwed**
Buffy went to take a quick shower, while Joyce was making sure Faith was gonna spend a nice and warm night, she gave her one of Buffy’s large t-shirts -since she doesn’t wear it anymore-.
Buffy went out of the bathroom in a two-piece night clothing. Shorts and top. Faith passed by her with a gentle smile, Buffy gave a shy smile too.
Buffy was under the covers, looking straight at the ceiling when Faith came back.
“I like your bathroom.”
“Thanks.” Buffy said, not looking at her.
“It's a nice change from the box of the motel room. Here it’s warm in all kinds of ways, makes it feel good being naked in it.”
Buffy gave a jumpy look at the brunette slayer, who was acting casually. Buffy couldn’t believe the images that were going through her mind right now; images of a naked Faith in her bathroom. Faith sat on the bed, Buffy swallowed.
The dark slayer went under the covers, on her side, propping herself on her elbow, staring at Buffy,
“So, B, what now?” She asked, almost randomly. Buffy swallowed again then looked at her and started babbling,
“Well, you’re
ready now, I guess we can sleep, so, err…goodnight, then, and,
err…yes, good night.”
Buffy very quickly turned off
the bedside light from her side and she turned herself towards the
window; not facing Faith. The brunette slayer turned off the light
from her bedside, so they were just lit by the colors of the night,
piercing through the curtains. With the snow, the night seemed
somehow brighter.
Buffy was holding her breath in some way, trying to guess what Faith was doing. But she just felt her slid under the covers normally.
They were quiet for a minute, but it didn’t take long before Faith laid her hand on Buffy’s waist, caressing her skin that was covered neither by the shirt nor the shorts. Buffy’s breathing increased. Faith slid her hand more towards the front of Buffy’s stomach as she moved closer to her, matching her curves.
“Faith, what are you doing?” Buffy whispered, within deep breaths. She felt Faith move even closer against her and her hand trying to reach further down. Buffy thought she had to do something NOW, end this NOW.
She started turning around, “Faith you have to stop thi-“
She was cut by Faith’s mouth on her, heavily crushing her lips. The brunette's tongue forced entrance into Buffy’s mouth and soon battled with her own. And Buffy felt herself holding the brunette’s face closer when this one slid a knee in between her legs, parting them while her hand went under Buffy’s shorts.
The blonde slayer
gasped in Faith’s mouth when the brunette’s skilled
finger reached her sensitive spot that she wasted no time in rubbing
strongly. Faith let go of Buffy’s mouth to suck on her neck
while she inserted a finger inside of her. Buffy was trying hard to
hold back her moans. Faith claimed her lips once again in a wild and
hard kiss. Buffy’s hips were moving frantically against Faith’s
finger’s thrusts.
The dark-haired slayer slid a second
finger in and started thrusting in and out as hard and fast as she
could while she was still kissing Buffy.
Buffy felt totally invaded by Faith. It was rough and wild, just like Faith, and it was unbelievable how good it was. Buffy didn’t understand how she could love being taken that way. How she could want it and want it exactly that way so much.
Buffy held Faith very
tightly, crushing her against her as she came with a hardly held back
groan.
Faith was breathing heavily, but Buffy’s breathing
was the one of a bull. Faith kissed her mouth once again while the
last spasms were squeezing around her fingers. Then she removed them
slowly. Buffy looked at her sister slayer licking her own fingers,
then going back under the covers as if nothing happened,
“’Night B,”
Buffy couldn’t
believe, nor understand it. She wasn’t too surprised though
about Faith’s reaction.
Buffy remained on her back for a
while, still recovering and getting her breath back. Then she turned
on her side again and after a long while she fell asleep. When she
woke up, Faith was already gone.
Buffy spent the weekend at home, looking depressed, as Joyce noticed. But come Sunday evening Buffy looked normal again. She was a little anxious about seeing her friends again. She knew they couldn’t know what had happened but… she felt different, and yet somehow she didn’t see it as that important, at least that’s the conclusion she ended up with at the end of her brooding weekend. It just happened. It had felt so good that somehow she didn’t want to feel bad about it. She was tired of feeling bad about everything she was doing or feeling.
And she had the feeling Faith wasn’t gonna brag about it. It was a game to Faith. It would probably never happen again, now that she’d had what she wanted. Or maybe it would, but it suddenly didn’t feel that bad being Faith’s ‘puppet’, on that level only, cause Buffy was still the lead, always had been, always would be, that’s what she was telling herself. Her friends were looking up to her and this is something she would NEVER give up. This, at least, was very clear in her mind, and she was pretty sure Faith knew the line would not be crossed.
~~
Buffy saw her friends during the second week of the holidays, Willow was happily back with Oz, as far as she could tell. So Buffy was taking extra care of Xander, taking him on patrol with her. Sometimes she thought she could feel Faith’s presence, but the brunette never showed up. Buffy therefore, kept bringing Xander with her. Even if she was resigned on some stuff, it was still easier if she wasn’t confronted by Faith alone. She couldn’t help it.
~~
School started again, Faith came at lunch time. Buffy slightly lowered her gaze at first, but the conversation went on and she relaxed and Faith acted casually then left. She came back, still for lunch, on Thursday, then apparently left like usual.
Buffy was in the library this afternoon with Xander, researching for school work for once.
“I’m lost.”
“Yeah, me too.”
Buffy admitted, “What’s up with Willow? She was
supposed to help us, geography, really not my thing.”
“Yeah, I guess she’s helping Oz right now,” He said, raising his eyebrows explicitly, “I’m glad they’re back together, don’t get me wrong, but she’s totally forgetting about us.”
“It’s normal that they want to be together a little.”
“What about us?”
Buffy smiled at
Xander’s jealousy then she said,
“You’re kind
of right in fact, she can’t let us down like that… Most
of all, honestly, I don’t want to spend the afternoon on that
homework. And where’s that book she said we needed? The coastal
side of North America or something like that.”
“Go search for it yourself Buffster, I got lost in there searching for it,” Xander said pointing at the bookshelves. Buffy sighed and finally got up,
“Ok, I got it.”
Xander got up in his
turn,
“And I’m gonna try to find Willow and bring her
here.”
“Ok, bring me a coke please; I think I could use a stimulant.”
“K,” He said as he left.
Buffy walked the few steps and headed to the shelves. She gave a jump as she came face-to-face with the brunette slayer. Their faces were only inches apart.
“Faith? What are you doing here?”
Faith moved closer,
“Heard you saying you needed a stimulant, so, here I am.”
Buffy looked aside to
be sure no one was around. Then she gently pushed Faith further in
the back whispering,
“You have to stop saying things like
that, Faith.”
Faith pinned her
against a shelf and whispered in her ear, “Do I have to only
stop saying things like that, or stop doing things like
'that’.” She said as she pressed her hand on
Buffy’s crotch over her pants. Buffy breathed out more deeply,
still looking around in apprehension,
“Faith, please.”
“Oh, yes, I like it even more if you beg me.”
“Come on,” Buffy said, with a little more energy. Pushing Faith slightly aside, but the brunette toughened her hold on the blonde girl and kept her against the book shelf before capturing Buffy’s lips with hers. Buffy couldn’t help but respond to the kiss, while Faith’s hand had already undone her zipper and was searching the hem of her panties.
Buffy gasped as Faith parted her inner lips easily with her fingers and started rubbing her clit. Buffy was already wet, as Faith could feel. Buffy was breathing louder. Faith took the blonde’s thigh in her hand to lift her as she slid a finger inside. Buffy tilted her head and arched her back, getting immediately more contact. And not long after that she wrapped her legs around Faith’s waist, letting the brunette slayer hold her and slam her finger inside of her as deep as she could.
Faith kissed her again, as the blonde girl was being louder in her moans. No one was in the library but they were so caught up, and Faith didn’t want someone to interrupt them any more than Buffy did.
“How d’ya miss me, B?” Faith whispered as she was thrusting hard.
A few more thrusts and Buffy let a short cry out as she came . Faith kissed her savagely on the neck for a short while, still holding her, before finally putting her down and removing her finger. They were staring at each other silently.
“I found her, Buffy.” They heard Xander say, as he opened the library’s door. Buffy zipped her pants back up very fast.
“Buffy?”
“I’m coming!”
Faith raised her eyebrows explicitly in a 'done-that-already' way. Buffy shook her head out of her thoughts; she took some deep breaths and went back to the center of the library. Oz and Willow were holding hands.
Willow had a huge smile, “Ok, I’m all yours now, what did you need me for?”
“It’s ok Red, I took care of her,” Faith said, as she showed up at the top of the stairs.
Buffy froze for a second, then Faith showed a book she was holding. Found your book Xan-man. Poor Buffy was desperately searching for it everywhere, so needy, I took pity on her.”
Faith moved forward
and handed Buffy the book,
“Next time B. You might wanna
try searching geography in, well, the geography section, you know.
That’s the other corner.”
She winked at her. Buffy’s heart was racing in her chest, she looked all flushed.
Xander frowned,
“Did
I miss something?”
Willow frowned, not
really understanding either,
“What was that all about?”
“Nothing baby, you know Faith,” Oz said, trying to help.
Willow shrugged and headed to the table where Buffy and Xander had been working. Buffy was very thankful to Oz for intervening. She realized, just like vamps, or even them, as much as he was staying out of people business, it was hardly possible that he did not smell anything coming from Faith as she passed by him, even from her. She knew he could smell Willow’s smell on her if the girls had been hugging or things like that, so she knew he knew.
“Thank you.” She said, he just nodded in a I-don’t-really-wanna-know-why kind of way. He knew, but he wouldn’t get involved in it.
PART 9
Buffy passed by Faith’s motel during her patrol, she didn’t come close though, just observed for a little while. She wanted to see her, but she didn’t want to go for her. She wandered around the places they used to patrol in, but didn’t see her. Same thing the following evening.
Buffy was patrolling the next evening and in a cemetery she finally found Faith dusting a single vamp. The brunette slayer gave her a warm smile when she saw her,
“Hey, B.”
“Hey. What you’re doing?”
“Now you’re just being lame Buffy.”
“Yes, of course, what else could you be doing at night, I mean in a cemetery, and with a stake I meant, not at night, what-oh God,”
Faith smiled at Buffy’s stammering.
“Don’t be so nervous, girlfriend. I was waiting for you to start the real fun anyway.”
Buffy raised her
eyebrows nervously,
“What do you mean?”
“I just meant that I haven’t been in Restfield cemetery for a while; wanna join me in the dust fest?”
Buffy’s eyes shone in anticipation…
They slew a bunch of vampires for about an hour and a half. Faith got an injury on one arm, not too bad though.
“Let me see,” Buffy said, rushing to her, “Let’s go to the hospital, you need some stitches.”
“Come on, B. Hospital? This will be closed tomorrow, you know better.”
Buffy nodded, Faith gave her a sensual look as she said, “On the other hand, my place is not too far, I could use a hand putting the bandage on it; that is, if you wanna step in this time, instead of staying outside.”
Buffy gave her a nice I-officially-don’t-know-what-you’re-talking-about look.
Faith smiled wickedly and led Buffy out of the cemetery.
They arrived at the motel, Buffy was walking hesitantly. So many thoughts going through her head, the post slaying rush in her body running directly to her center, was bringing back to her the memories of Faith’s finger inside of her. She was feeling flushed before even getting inside the room. That became even worse once inside, as Buffy couldn’t help looking at Faith’s bed, where the sheets were undone. Images of a naked Faith on them now were overwhelming her mind. Buffy shook her head, trying to push the thoughts aside.
“So, where do you keep your bandages and - hey!” Buffy said, as Faith pushed her on to the bed. Buffy propped herself up on her elbow, looking at Faith who was staring at her with a predatory look,
“No one around, Buffy. No need to pretend. You came here for one reason only.”
Buffy tried to avoid her gaze, “I just wanted to help and…” she stopped as she avoided Faith’s gaze again,
“Take off your pants,” Faith ordered nicely. Buffy didn’t move, but she could feel her juices flowing already.
Faith sighed,
“Fine,
I’ll do it.”
Buffy took a deep
breath as she watched the brunette slayer move closer, undoing her
pants, never quitting her gaze from the blonde slayer, who now found
herself pantless and without panties as well. Faith stood right in
front of her,
“So now B, what do you want?”
Faith knelt in
between Buffy’s legs, caressing them but not doing more. Still
staring at Buffy, who sat up slowly. Their faces were inches away. It
was no longer the time to be ashamed. Buffy wanted it, and she wanted
it bad. She brought Faith’s face towards hers and kissed her
hard. Faith responded as roughly to the kiss, before pulling apart
with a wide smile,
“That’s better,”
On this Faith moved away, kneeling on the floor, Buffy slightly frowned, not understanding until Faith pulled her by her legs so that her ass was at the edge of the bed.
“Oh God!” Buffy gasped at the first contact of Faith’s mouth on her swollen clitoris.
She clutched at the sheets more and more as Faith was avidly sucking on her clit before alternating with long licks of it.
Buffy’s moans
very quickly became quite loud. She groaned as she felt Faith’s
tongue thrust several times inside her tight passage before being
replaced by two fingers. Faith was pumping in and out very fast while
sucking hard on her clit and it didn’t take long for Buffy to
climax in a loud cry.
Faith kept pumping in and out though, while
moving Buffy up on the bed and kissing her breasts and her mouth for
a long while, as she brought her to a second orgasm.
Buffy couldn’t breathe anymore; the ceiling was a white mist for an unknown amount of time. When she finally recovered, Faith was heading out of the bathroom, drying her hands.
“It’s getting late, B. Your mother’s gonna worry.”
Buffy couldn’t help a slight disappointment though she didn’t want it any other way, cause any other way would be her staying here, spending the night here, and therefore that would mean something… That’s how Buffy liked to think about it. She slowly sat up, picked up her clothes and got dressed.
“Good night, Faith.”
“Night, B.”
Buffy opened the
door, but she didn’t leave. She turned around, Faith looked a
little worried, in her opinion, she wasn’t used to anyone
sticking around and she didn’t want anyone sticking
around, or so Buffy thought. But Buffy felt unable to leave like this
that night. She turned around and headed to the bed, beside Faith and
took the first aid kit Faith had pulled out and, without saying a
word, without talking about what happened here, at the library, the
theatre or in Buffy’s room, she began cleaning Faith’s
wound and bandaging her. Faith let her do it; it felt good having
someone, having Buffy taking care of her though, she would
never admit it.
But somehow they didn’t need words.
“There, that should do it.”
“Thanks,” Faith said without looking at her, but at the bandage instead.
“Night Faith,”
“Night, B.”
And Buffy left, taking some deep breaths once outside. This was all very confusing all the same. Was it just sex? She never thought she could have something that would be this way, but that was what it was, even though it was very confusing, and just sex wasn’t supposed to be confusing. Buffy shook her head out of her disturbing thoughts and headed home.
~~
A week went by. Faith didn’t show up at school. Buffy had Giles, then Oz randomly call her to check and see if she was ok. She seemed to be, and by her saying she was ‘busy’.
Buffy was patrolling haphazardly every night, admittedly knowing she was looking for the other slayer. What was happening was weird, she was feeling ashamed and somehow shocked about it, but she knew that the fact of not knowing what was gonna happen next, where Faith might lead her next was exciting her. She felt it inside, the thrill of letting go, every time she was with her. As much as she was horrified by her own actions, she was thinking about it all the time with a nostalgic taste in her mouth, all day long when she was bored in school or at the Bronze with her friends. She knew she was looking for that excitement the brunette slayer was providing for her.
When she was thinking
straight, or rather trying to, she could just tell herself she
didn’t do much in fact. She just ‘allowed Faith a
little freedom with her body and Faith just took it because Faith was
‘that way’ but she, Buffy, 'was not'. It was just an
accident, it just happened a few times, that was all’….
. She was trying to give herself good reasons for this behaviour.
She was about to turn eighteen, things could get confusing at
that age, as she convinced herself.
~~~
Buffy’s birthday was very fast approaching. She was completely oblivious of it though, as she felt her powers diminishing. She was almost staked with her own stake. She was becoming more and more worried. A year ago she would have been thrilled to be rid of this burden, or she thought, but now, to her friends’ wonder she was very worried about losing it. And even more then that she was irritated by Giles not finding anything to explain what was causing it and not acting like it was ‘the end of the world’. Well, to her it felt that way.
The next day, after school, Giles admitted what it was that he’d ‘done’ to her. It was a test the watcher’s council way. She was rendered powerless by an injection, courtesy of Giles, and she had to face a crazy vampire alone, without her powers. That was her slayer 18th birthday’s present.
She was wandering in the streets, tears not yet dry on her cheeks… She didn’t understand this, and mostly how Giles, of all people, had been able to do something like that to her. She felt so lost right now. Like she couldn’t trust the part of her life she thought was the most solid part.
And she was scared, she felt so small right now, and helpless. She was cold and alone.
**I should have let Cordelia drive me home. I just needed to breathe, to get out of that library. How could he do that to me?**
She felt like everyone was looking at her, threatening her, even if the everyonewas just a couple of men hanging around. It was already late and dark… Not many people out on the streets. She heard some singing and didn’t have the time to wonder about it, when she was suddenly face-to-face with a vampire. She soon understood this was the one she was supposed to fight; he’d apparently had escaped, but she was still like a mission to him somehow. She struggled, it was killing her inside being so powerless to him. She ran and screamed like those girls in those scary movies but… she had no choice, she was so scared. The crazy vampire was not alone. She was chased by two now. She managed to escape through a wire fence, on which she cut herself on the arm.
The other vampire, the not crazy one caught up with her in the middle of the street. She screamed, but then heard a familiar sound and turned around just in time to see the vampire turning to dust and the brunette slayer standing in front of her with a baffled look on her face.
“B. What…” She stopped as tears fell from Buffy’s cheeks and the blonde slayer just leaned on the taller girl, who didn’t push her back or say any thing else, but only held her tight.
“It’s, it’s gonna be ok.”
She didn’t know what happened, but that’s all she wanted now, that she was ok.
Faith quietly led them to her motel room. Buffy explained everything to her on the way. Faith was mad at Giles, very mad, but she didn’t show it too much. She couldn’t help thinking of the fragile Buffy that was standing in front of her. She couldn’t help wanting to make her feel better. She told her she was here, in a nice way, a comforting and honest way that she didn’t know she possessed.
They entered the room. Buffy looked fatigued by this whole situation, hell who wouldn’t? As Faith thought. Faith got rid of her jacket while Buffy silently sat on the bed, her gaze lost and turned towards the ground.
Faith was staring at her, waves of various feelings were invading her. Some she always felt when close to the blonde slayer, such as desire and need. But also others that she was more reluctant to allow herself to feel…
She moved closer, she gently caressed Buffy’s arm, checking where she was wounded and she went to the bathroom to take the first aid-kit and clean the wound. Buffy remaint silent and motionless.
Faith got up and put
the kit back in place once it was taken care of. Then she remained
standing, a few steps away from Buffy who then looked at her. Faith
began unzipping her pants, and was suddenly naked in front of Buffy
who gulped but didn’t move. She was unable to process any
thoughts tonight…
Except maybe that... Faith was
beautiful; this, wasn’t a hard thought to get.
She watched as the brunette slayer moved closer to her, pulling her gently towards her and moving almost on top of her. Faith moved her hands behind Buffy’s back and lifted her to the pillow, fully on the bed. She lifted her again to lay her under the covers. Buffy just put her hands on Faith’s strong arms. The younger slayer felt like strength, all the strength Buffy didn’t have anymore, and she needed it, she needed to feel it. She was just letting Faith completely take control of the situation. Not unlike the other times as one would think, but it was very different all the same. Everything felt different right now.
She was staring at
this beautiful and powerful brunette above her. Faith continued her
protective gaze of the petite slayer as well, as she was undressing
her, slowly but efficiently, brushing her fingers against Buffy’s
chest and stomach, slowly, sweetly, Buffy even thought…
unusual that was for sure.
Faith moved backwards to remove
Buffy’s pants and her panties.
Buffy was naked; frail and helpless in front of a powerful person above her, but she wasn’t feeling threatened, not for a minute. Faith moved back towards her, really close, spreading her legs slightly with her own in between, covering her.
That’s how Buffy felt it. Faith’s strength covering her weakness right now. She slightly tilted her head back as Faith pressed her pelvis on her crotch slowly. Another slow thrust of her pelvis, Buffy’s lips slightly parted in a shy gasp and Faith bent forward, claiming those lips in a tender way Buffy had never known with her…
She so willingly received Faith’s tongue in her mouth, feeling it so nicely tasting her own, teasing her mouth.
A first moan escaped from Buffy’s, as Faith slightly increased the pressure of her pelvis’ thrusts. Faith left Buffy’s mouth to place numerous warm kisses on her neck and lick it. She also moved her left hand downward as to lift Buffy’s thigh higher, moaning too as she pressed harder her crotch against Buffy’s.
The blonde slayer put her hands around Faith’s back and held her like she had nothing else. And right now that’s how it felt… Like she just had her; Faith.
Faith kept that rhythm for a long while and kissed Buffy… a lot.
Buffy’s orgasm was close and her head was spinning but all she could seem to hear was the increasing moans of the dark slayer. Buffy could feel Faith’s climax coming soon too and it was intense. It was different, it felt like something they were sharing, really sharing this time…
Buffy’s nails kept sinking more and more into Faith’s skin and it seemed to only make the dark slayer press even harder.
Buffy wrapped her legs around Faith’s thigh, trying to get her even harder against her. She exhaled loudly as she came. Faith left her mouth in order to let her catch her breath, but the dark slayer didn’t slow her pace. She was clutching at Buffy’s shoulders from under her back and sighing loudly. Buffy had kept her legs wrapped around her and she put her hands on the dark slayer’s back, almost on her ass to harden the last few movements until Faith came in her turn in a groan.
She was breathing loudly, the sounds were invading Buffy’s head. Her eyes were closed.
It didn’t take long before she felt the brunette’s lips on hers. They kissed passionately for a while until Buffy gasped as Faith entered her core with a finger, gently moving in and out while kissing her neck now…
Buffy bucked her hips as Faith’s thumb rubbed her still very sore clit. Her body didn’t have the recuperative powers it usually had so she was already close to her second orgasm as Faith hastened the rhythm of her thrusts in and out of her. Buffy cried out as she came a second time. She wasn’t holding Faith as much, just resting her arms on her now. She was completely limp. Trying to catch her breath. Her eyes were heavy; she was finding it hard to keep them open. Faith was gently caressing her stomach and breasts and Buffy felt herself so light right now. She could fall asleep. She was trying to think that it was time to get up though, as the dark slayer would probably point out soon, but instead Buffy felt herself being carried slightly on her side and held tightly by those strong and comforting arms…
~~~
Buffy was slowly waking up… ever so slowly. She could feel an arm around her shoulder, caressing her gently. She felt warm, the more she was waking up the more she was realizing how close they were. Her face was almost against Faith’s collarbone, as she could guess they were face-to-face. She slowly opened her eyes, catching Faith staring at her with genuine tender eyes before quickly removing her arms, as she took note the blonde slayer was awake. Buffy smiled at her, despite the sudden move.
Faith gave her a slight smile back and moved away. Buffy felt a little surprised, a bad feeling in her mind as Faith was getting dressed very fast. Buffy looked at the clock,
“It’s still early.” Buffy didn’t ask her to stay in bed, but the tone was asking by itself.
“Well, gotta be somewhere so,” Faith’s tone was a little dry and she wasn’t looking at Buffy as she finished getting dressed.
“Faith, I,”
Faith turned to look at her.
“I thought maybe, maybe we would talk about it, you know.”
Faith shrugged nonchalantly, “Talk about what?”
“What happened last night?” Buffy said in an of course tone.
“Why?”
Buffy sighed and
Faith added,
“We never talk about it, so what do you wanna
say now?”
Buffy slowly sat and
tried,
“Well, I- I kind of think it wasn’t…
well, it didn’t feel like the other times, it felt different.”
“Yeah? Well, felt the same to me. Except maybe I had to be more careful not to crush your helpless self that’s all.”
“Faith, why-why,” Buffy slightly looked aside before going on, “Tell me, honestly that last night wasn’t more…” Buffy trailed off.
“More what?!” Faith’s tone was aggressive now. She picked up Buffy’s clothes from the ground and threw them on the bed, as Buffy remained silent to Faith’s complete change of attitude compared to the night.
“Now get dressed and get out. I have things to do.”
Buffy swallowed but began getting up, resigned. Faith went to the bathroom while Buffy was putting her clothes on without more words. She was heading to the door when Faith went out and added,
“And try to get Giles to fix you; it’s getting boring now having you so needy like that.”
She closed the bathroom’s door again. Buffy left the room, slamming the door behind her.
PART 10
Faith didn’t show up for the rest of the week. In the meantime Buffy fought the crazy vampire and succeeded, Giles on the other hand was fired by the Council but remained in Sunnydale.
It was Friday, Faith showed up at lunch. Buffy was avoiding her slightly. They were at the library, hanging as usual. Faith was talking to Giles about a weapon she wanted to try.
Buffy was talking with Willow and Xander.
“So, B, where are we going tonight?”
Buffy gave a slight
jump, she frowned,
“What do you mean?”
Faith moved closer
and teased her,
“Your place or mine?”
Buffy held her breath and looked flushed as she stared at her friends in a panic when Faith added,
“Patrolling,
dumb head, where do you think?” Faith said mocking, raising her
eyebrows explicitly at Buffy, who had finally released her breath,
“She’s funny,” Buffy just said, getting out of
her embarrassment before replying,
“Well, dunno, I patrolled a lot the last few nights, didn’t seem too bad. I think we can split up, there’s no big danger.”
“Well, there seemed to be a lot of activities around Restfield last night. I thought you might be interested Super Slayer.”
Xander frowned in a
non understanding way,
“You’ve called her like that
twice today?”
Faith bent forward on
the table, her cleavage in full sight of all of them,
“Well,
she fought super vamp, all by herself, without slayer
strength, makes her Super Slayer, right?”
“You’re jealous?” Willow said, with some pride and arrogance.
Faith smirked but didn’t reply, she moved away, glancing at Buffy who didn’t reply either.
Giles moved closer,
continuing with the previous topic,
“What kind of
activities?”
“Well, buzzing around, chasing some random lost girl. I staked some but I could tell there were more.”
Buffy stared at her,
“Did you actually SEE some more vampires or you just wished
there were more?”
Faith moved closer, they were staring in a daring way, face to face, everyone could feel the tension rising up.
“I could feel them.”
“Weird, you usually don’t feel much, do you?”
“Only what’s interesting to feel.”
“Ok, ok, ladies, what’s going on?” Xander said, as he moved closer to them.
“Nothing,”
“Nothing,” They both said and moved away from each other, keeping their serious gaze.
Giles moved closer,
avoiding the apparent tension,
“Buffy, if Faith thinks
there’s some trouble going on there, it probably would be wiser
to start your patrol there together. If it’s quiet then you can
split to cover more ground. Is that alright that way?”
Faith was surprised by Giles extra care in his asking. The man still had to make them all, especially Buffy forget that he ‘poisoned’ her, even if Faith knew he’d helped her to vanquish Kravik in the end.
“Fine,” Buffy just said, before sitting on her chair again.
“Well that’s settled then. I’ll meet you there directly.” Faith said, not hiding her non interest to stay here, with all of them as she added, “Oh and Buffy, leave the gang at home, it might get dirty tonight.” Buffy looked mad at her barely hidden innuendo in front of all of them, and also by the fact that Faith ‘read her mind’, she knew her so well. Willow looked mad at Faith’s disdain.
“Have fun with your classes.”
She left the same way she’d come.
~~~
Buffy was struggling with two vamps, when Faith joined her,
“About time!” Buffy said, within two kicks and a parry.
“What?” Faith said, as she bent to avoid a punch, “I thought you were Super Slayer now?”
“Stop calling me that.”
“As you please, girlfriend.”
Buffy didn’t have the time to complain as more vampires came their way. They fought for a while, following the vampires further away. Faith hadn’t lied; they were quite numerous in that area.
Buffy exhaled contentedly, as she staked the last vampire. She turned around to see how Faith was handling hers, only to find the brunette slayer already done and staring at her.
“So, B. Up for more?” She said, with a wicked smile. Buffy pretended not to care about Faith’s innuendo.
“If there are some more vamps, sure. But I don’t think so. Let’s just split for tonight, ok?” She meant to move forward casually, but Faith grabbed her arm and pulled her abruptly against her, locking mouths and immediately covering the blonde girl’s body completely with her arms. Buffy couldn’t stifle a moan. They’d just had a good evening of slaying and even if she had really wanted to, she couldn’t resist the brunette slayer at that moment.
Faith pulled away after a while, she stared moving backwards, staring at Buffy with a teasing gaze. Buffy hated herself at that moment for moving, for choosing to follow her. Knowing damn well where she was leading her; her motel room being less than a mile outside of the cemetery’s exit.
They slew another vamp on their way there, their quiet way there. They could only hear their breathing intensifying. Faith opened the door and stepped in. Buffy followed shyly, telling herself she shouldn’t… But she did.
Faith took her jacket
off,
“Take off your pants, B.”
Faith’s tone was so cold, so emotionless. Buffy remained still.
“You want me to do it for you, maybe?” Faith’s stare was cold as well.
Buffy gulped, “No, I just… I think I’m gonna go home, it’s late.”
Faith smiled and moved nonchalantly closer, with a mocking smile.
“Seriously. I’m going home now.”
Buffy meant to turn away, but she didn’t have the time before Faith pushed her brutally against the door, tore the first button of her pants apart and slid her hand inside of Buffy’s pants,
“Really?” Buffy moaned and Faith went on, “What you gonna do about this?” Faith said, talking about Buffy’s wetness as she could easily feel it over her panties. She rubbed her clit over it a few times, causing the blonde girl to moan even more, before withdrawing her hand as Buffy tried to kiss her. She pulled away. Buffy was panting ever so lightly.
“See? Stop fooling yourself B. Now take off your clothes, I’ll be back in a minute.”
She headed towards the bathroom. Buffy sighed, she felt bad at her own weakness, as she was slowly undressing herself, her body was aching to be touched and she couldn’t resist that urge.
Faith came out of the bathroom and Buffy’s face fell when she saw her.
“What- what is that?”
“Damn, B. You really haven’t seen much porn, have you?”
Buffy gulped, she still couldn’t form any complete thought, as she was staring at the brunette slayer approaching her with a strap on dildo. Faith was staring at her with a nasty grin, while she was stroking her hand along the fake dick, lubricating it as Buffy tried to understand.
“That’s not funny, Faith.”
“Not meant to be.”
“Ok, I’m out of here.” Buffy said as she picked up her clothes from the chair. Faith moved forward and took her arm,
“No you’re not.”
Buffy forcefully brushed her hand away hardly,
“I don’t want to do that.” Her tone was firm.
“Who said you had a choice?”
Buffy gulped, they were staring daringly at each other.
Faith smiled a little nicer, “Come on, B. You’re gonna like it.”
Buffy looked at the strap on and shook her head, “I’m not.”
She didn’t have the time to say more before Faith grabbed her face and pulled her into a fiery kiss. Moving them slightly closer, but Buffy pushed her away, slightly, not able to make her loosen her grip on her. Then just like before, Faith pushed her violently against the door, moving forward onto her, not giving her the time to react as she pressed herself against the blonde girl’s crotch, taking her thigh in her hand.
Buffy cried out at the rough entrance, she clutched at Faith’s skin, grimacing with a mix of pain and pleasure at Faith’s already hard thrusts in and out of her.
“God!” She gasped out. Faith wasn’t slowing her path. Buffy’s back was banging hard against the wall with each thrust. Faith kissed her neck and her mouth eagerly.
Buffy tried to catch her breath, “Why Faith?”
Faith kept on thrusting.
“Why are you trying so hard, God!” Faith thrust deeper, but Buffy kept on, “to erase… what happened the other night? Why?”
“Nothing happened.” Faith said, out of breath. “I fucked you, that’s all.”
“No, that’s what you’re doing now.” Buffy breathed out.
Faith gave her a
wicked smile, “And you’re liking that so much aren’t
you babe?”
Faith started kissing her again, roughly. Buffy
gasped as Faith broke the kiss but the blonde slayer immediately
pulled her into a kiss once again while lifting one leg to Faith’s
thigh level.
“Faith! God
Faith.” Buffy breathed out, “It was in your eyes.”
Faith looked at her, but couldn’t stand the blonde slayer’s
stare and the emotion invading her at that moment, she moved away,
dragging Buffy by the neck, almost by the hair, to the edge of the
bed.
“Faith! Faith stop!”
Faith forced her to bend forward and slammed her dildo inside of her, making her cry out loud once again. Buffy’s hands were on the bed, holding herself while Faith was thrusting, both hands on the blonde slayer’s ass.
“God.” Buffy could barely breathe; the dildo was brushing incessantly against her G-spot causing waves of heat to suffocate her more and more.
“What’s in my eyes now B?!”
The dark slayer was thrusting so hard Buffy’s head was spinning. She was moaning, she was feeling so confused. It was making her sick, she was holding herself on that bed, in a somewhat degrading position while Faith was fucking her roughly and she couldn’t understand how she could feel that much pleasure to that, mostly when she thought that just a couple of days ago she was in that same bed, she was being made love to, cause that’s how it felt. She realised that afterwards, how it felt... like a first time. Like her first time with Angel had been, with less anxiety and more pleasure that is... yes, that had felt like a first time, loving time. And now it was.... behind them... way behind them. Buffy realized that too, Faith was pushing this away and Buffy knew that by liking what was happening now she was letting her do so...
“It feels so good B. Fucking the great successful, 18th winner slayer. What a thrill.” There was a taste of bitterness in Faith’s voice.
“God, Faith,” Buffy tried to turned her head, but Faith held her head down and as Buffy tried to reach Faith’s blocking hand with hers, the dark slayer took one of Buffy’s arms and blocked it on the blonde girl’s back. She moved herself so hard into Buffy, pushing her head to the bed while she kept on thrusting hard.
Buffy was giving long moans of both pain and pleasure. She was hardly standing on her feet now, more by her knees slowly touching the bed as her legs were giving up on her, but it was mostly Faith’s hands on her hips that were maintaining her. The dark slayer was groaning loudly and slamming her fake cock deeper and harder than anyone would ever do. Buffy was hardly able to stand it. She let a loud sigh out as she felt herself overwhelmed by her climax, she was completely limp and only kept in place by Faith’s strong grip while the dark slayer was still thrusting senselessly. Buffy was crying out at each new thrust for a short while, until Faith finally came in her turn, in a hoarse groan.
She was breathing extremely heavily, sweating too. She slowly released her grip on the blonde slayer’s thighs and withdrew her fake cock slowly from Buffy’s center. The blonde slayer let herself slowly slide on to her side, on the bed. She was completely worn out.
Faith removed her strap on. Buffy wasn’t moving, she was trying to get her breathing back. Faith went into the bathroom for about one minute before coming back, fully dressed and heading towards the door,
“Night, B.” Faith left the motel room, leaving Buffy completely drained and so disappointed, mostly at herself, and very sad as well...
It took her a while to pull herself together, both physically and mentally. She spent a while in Faith’s shower too, before finally heading back to her house...
Buffy chose to forget about it, forget about everything she’d felt. Just let this go and see what happens. It wasn’t important, clearly, what Faith wanted to point out and Buffy decided she wouldn’t insist on proving her wrong anymore, not after tonight.
~~
Several days went by; Buffy remained very close to her friends, going to the movies with them, taking them on her patrols to their delight. Faith didn’t show up and Buffy realized she didn’t care that much whether she did or not. She knew the brunette would show again at some point, but she wasn’t anxious about it anymore.
~~
Faith joined them several times at lunch or after the school in the library. She made some explicit comment, putting Buffy ill at ease and inwardly mad at her, even if the others didn’t pay much attention to what she was saying, just like usual.
~~
They were at the
Bronze, sitting around a table, they were laughing hard when Faith
arrived,
“What’s the fun about?”
Buffy and Xander were still laughing hard, so Oz politely explained Xander’s last practical joke.
“Tell me how
you always do that, Xander?!” Faith asked him. He shrugged,
“That’s just me, totally un-cool man. If there’s
a way to get a humiliation… Then I’m the man.” He
said with a fake pride.
Faith gave him a wicked smile and said very explicitly, “Come see me at the motel one of these days, I’ll make you a very cool guy.”
Willow slightly cleared her throat, Xander didn’t dare to reply. He just smiled his awkward smile while glancing once at Willow and then at Buffy. The blonde slayer wasn’t looking at Faith, but the dark slayer knew exactly what she was thinking…
“Do you want something to drink, Faith?” Oz said to move on.
“T’s ok, haven’t finished my beer yet.”
“How come they serve you beer without proof?” Buffy asked her firmly.
Faith smiled wickedly, looking at the blonde slayer in the eye, “Give a man a good blow job, B. and you’ll get everything you desire.”
Willow spat her drink, Xander smiled nervously. Buffy gave her a scolding tone. She wasn’t ‘that explicit’ usually, not with them all around at least. Faith kept on smiling.
“So, what movie are we seeing tomorrow?” Buffy asked to change the subject. It was Friday night, so they were planning on going to the Sun cinema tomorrow afternoon.
“I don’t know, what’s on this week?”
Buffy held back a gasp as she felt Faith’s hand on her thigh, tugging at her skirt to go under it. She moved slightly, like she was getting more comfortable in her seating position to try and make her remove her hand, but Faith left it there. Determined she kept on attempting to go under and finally succeeded. She moved forward, Buffy had already placed her jacket on her lap in case Faith’s arm became more obvious, but on her left was hardly noticeable for the others with the way they were seated and also as they were in the half light. Buffy and Faith’s corner mostly. Faith’s hand was almost reaching Buffy’s crotch, she was just blocked now by Buffy’s skirt preventing Faith’s arm from moving closer. Buffy was trying hard to sit strongly, as to keep her skirt the way it was.
“Aren’t you a little tight in your corner there Xander?”
Faith told him; he was sitting beside Buffy while Oz and Willow were sitting in front of them, more on Faith’s side though there was space between them.
“Yes, but the loving birds over there didn’t leave me any room so.”
“Hey!” Willow exclaimed nicely though.
“Come on, move closer,” Faith told Oz and Willow ,who moved slightly closer to her. Xander moved to the other seat and Faith willingly pushed Buffy on the side, closer to the exit then, and of course, didn’t waste any time in reaching her crotch, free to lift the skirt, even in the short second it took Buffy to move. Buffy exhaled loudly, but with everyone moving, no one noticed.
The blonde slayer was
giving her friends nice smiles while Faith’s fingers were
tugging on her panties and she very quickly slid a finger from the
side of it, rubbing Buffy’s clit. Buffy swallowed, maintaining
her smile and her nods to her friends’ talking.
She felt
her nipples hardened and her juices rush to her center. She was
becoming flushed. She could feel Faith’s finger getting closer
to her core with each rub, and she knew Faith wouldn’t stop.
“Are you ok, Buffy?”
“Huh what? Err, yes. I - I need to go to the bathroom.”
Faith removed her hand as Buffy started to get up, rearranging her skirt without being in sight of her friends who kept on talking. She left the room. Faith put her beer on the table,
“Well, gonna get me a new one.”
PART 11
Faith entered the
restroom, there were a bunch of people so she waited for a short
while till they were out. Three doors were still closed; she walked
slowly by all of them, her boots resounding on the floor.
She
smiled as she passed by the second one that was closed; she walked
two steps backwards and stood straight in front of it.
“B.” She just said.
The first door opened and a girl went out.
Faith could hear Buffy’s breathing.
She smiled,
“Buffy,
open the door.”
“No.”
Faith inhaled deeply.
“B?” She said in a don’t-make-me-break-that-door-open tone
She heard the lock opening. She smiled victoriously and stepped inside. Buffy looked pissed off, yet still flushed,
“Are you crazy or what?” Buffy whispered.
“Why’s that, B?” Faith said, as she was already caressing Buffy’s breasts.
“This, all this,” Buffy said, removing Faith’s hands from her, “The way you’re acting since…” Buffy paused and went on, “They’re all here.”
“Isn’t that more exciting?” Faith whispered in to her neck, before licking on it.
“No, it’s not… I don’t want them to…” She trailed off and Faith took over,
“To know who you really are.”
“No, that’s not right, it’s not me, it’s just...”
“It’s just what, B?”
Buffy removed Faith’s
hands again,
“I don’t have to justify myself to you.
I just don’t want to, that’s all.” Buffy said,
meaning to go but Faith didn’t step aside.
“What do you think, Buffy? That I’m your little puppet? Your human sex bot? That it is when you want, where you want?”
“I never said anything like that, besides could you please just quiet down?!”
“I have nothing to lose if people hear me… I don’t care. You’re just such a coward Buffy. You can’t even face what you’re doing.”
“I’m not doing anything, it’s just you… I’m just…”
“You’re just enjoying, letting me do all the work, B. right? You think it makes you less dirty.” Faith said giving a long lick on Buffy’s neck.
Faith pulled away slightly and began undoing her own pants,
“I think you’re right in fact, B. You’re not doing much… But that’s something I can put right.”
Faith took Buffy’s hand, they both pulled their hands towards themselves but Faith moved closer, making Buffy moved backwards. She kissed her and Buffy could never resist her kiss. She was still holding Buffy’s hand. Faith kissed her neck and whispered,
“Come on, B.
You know you’ve thought about it, you’ve wanted to know
how it felt.”
Buffy’s breath had considerably
increased. Faith led the blonde’s hand to under her panties.
Buffy’s heart was rising in her chest as she was getting
closer.
“Yes, B. There.” Faith was staring straight at Buffy as their hands reached Faith’s mound. The dark haired slayer was slightly pressing her finger above Buffy’s and she was moving her hips to the contact, while Buffy was staring back, looking a little dazed, swallowing a lot. Faith kissed her, more leisurely than usual and she slowly removed her hand. Not surprised that Buffy’s hand kept on rubbing, even increasing the pleasure somehow. Faith moaned in to Buffy’s mouth.
The dark slayer was getting very wet. Buffy could feel the juices around her finger. Faith was leaning completely over her, trying to get more contact.
“Come on, B.”
She kissed her and moaned some more before going on, “You know you want to,” She moaned again, pressing herself harder against Buffy who suddenly grabbed her hair to pull her into a wild kiss while she moved forward to pin the brunette slayer against the wall, hard. Faith exhaled contentedly and gasped as Buffy finally slid a finger inside of her.
“Yes, B. God yes!”
She wrapped her legs around Buffy’s waist, matching the slayer’s finger’s rhythm inside of her. Buffy was kissing her neck widely. Amazed at the feeling she was getting with her finger deep inside Faith and the brunette slayer reacting that way to her ministrations.
“God, B. Harder. Gimme more, God yes! Oh yes!” Faith exclaimed, as Buffy slid a second finger in.
Faith was moaning louder now. Buffy couldn’t stop kissing and licking on her neck.
“Fuck me, God fuck me good.”
Buffy felt her own juices rush to her center. She couldn’t believe nor understand how Faith’s words were turning her on even more.
Faith sunk her nails in to Buffy’s shoulders, over her shirt and the petite slayer felt her walls tightened around her fingers, as she climaxed in a heavy sigh. She rested her head back against the wall, while Buffy was still carrying her, both girls breathing heavily. The last spasms of Faith’s climax were still clenching, slightly, Buffy’s fingers. Then she removed her hand and moved slightly away. She was looking at her fingers. Faith was taking deep breathes to recover quickly. She took Buffy’s hand and took her fingers in her mouth to suck on them, swallowing her own juices while looking at Buffy with a sensual gaze. Buffy was looking at the show motionless, not able to take her eyes off of the dark slayer’s mouth sucking her juice-coated fingers and she could feel her own juices dampening her panties even more.
Faith let go of her hand with a contented smile…
“So now, B… tell me what you want?”
Buffy swallowed, her mound was aching to be touched now. It was almost painful with being turned on this much,
“I, you. I…”
“Be clearer, B. What do you want me to do?” Faith said, as she was tugging on Buffy’s skirt.
Buffy was breathing heavily.
“Touch me,” she exhaled, as she pulled Faith’s face closer to hers into a kiss. Faith very quickly took charge of the kiss, sliding her tongue fully into Buffy’s mouth. Sucking on her tongue while quickly undoing the blonde girl’s shirt and tugging on her bra to get them down under her breasts that she massaged strongly as soon as they were free.
Buffy moaned and Faith wasted no time to suck on Buffy’s hardened nipples, biting on the right one. Buffy felt a jolt of electricity go through her body. She moaned at the pleasure to come, as Faith went down on her knees, lifting her skirt. She moved the soaked panties aside and sucked on Buffy’s swollen clit almost as soon. Buffy groaned at the long awaited contact.
“Buffy? Buffy are you here?”
Buffy moved her hand to her mouth to bite on it, as to not let any sounds come out while Faith was ardently sucking on her sensitive spot. She knew Willow was still just outside, but she couldn’t help needing Faith even closer, as she was pulling her face hard on her crotch.
“Buffy?” Willow asked again. Buffy bit even harder on her hand and finally let out a heavy exhale after Willow had left. She’d lifted her leg on Faith’s shoulder. Faith wasn’t stopping even for a second and Buffy let out a final cry as she climaxed, feeling her muscles finally relax. Faith was still sucking, more gently now, swallowing as much of Buffy’s juices that she could…
Faith finally moved away, cleaning her face with her sleeve, staring at Buffy with a victorious smile before opening the door and leaving with a grin on her face. Buffy remained a bit longer in the restroom, trying to pull herself together and then she joined her friends. Faith left them all a short while after, simply saying she was going to a party.
~~
It was Monday, they were at the library after lunch, waiting for the afternoon classes to start again.
“Hey school kids!”
“Hi” Oz and Xander said, Willow just gave her a short smile and Buffy raised her hand in a waving sign. She was busy doing some exercises that Willow was helping her with.
Faith sat just in front of the two friends, Oz and Xander were sitting beside.
“What cha doin?”
Buffy raised her eyebrows and her note book slightly.
“Oh, math,” Faith said with a knowing gaze.
“Yep.”
Willow frowned unpleasantly at Buffy’s bored look at this, and her and Faith’s knowing gaze.
Faith turned around to look at the boys who were chatting, somewhat laughing.
“Hey Oz, you seem a lot less silent than usual, what happened, did Red finally give you a happy?”
Giles, who was just exiting of his office at that moment, spat his mouthful of tea, turned and went back inside.
Willow was fuming.
“Mind your business, ok?!”
Faith sat back in her chair, “I guess not.”
Oz remained calm, “Willow makes me happy every day, just by existing.” He smiled nicely at his girlfriend, trying to comfort her. Buffy was focusing on her notebook to avoid the topic,
“What about you, Xander?”
“Huh, me, huh what?”
Faith smiled wickedly, “When are you planning on paying me a visit?”
He looked flustered, “Hum, kinda busy, right now, I mean, exams soon and all.”
“If you change your mind, I’ll teach you stuff you’ll never learn in any book, ain’t that right, B?”
Willow’s eyes widened, as well as Xander’s but Buffy remained calm. She’d kinda felt that one coming,
“Well, you do say a lot of stuff, and I think we’d have to actually ask the guys once it’s done to know the truth about your said skills. And seeing they don’t stick around, maybe you’re not as good as you think you are.”
Faith slightly smirked with raised eyebrows in a ‘nicely-averted-B’ way.
“Really?!” Faith slightly laughed, “Well, I think maybe guys don’t stick around because they’re no match. I guess… only a slayer can be a match to another slayer, what do you think about that, B?”
Buffy smiled, “I guess we’re doomed to be single then.”
Faith gave her the same smile, “Unless of course if I do like you did and find myself a soulful vampire, no wait, damn! You killed the one. Maybe a soulless one would do, what do you think?”
Buffy found it more difficult keeping her calm when it came to Angel, but she managed to not let it show too much, as she looked down at her notebook, “You’ll just do whatever you want, not my problem.”
Faith went on, “About that B. How cold was his di-“
“Oh my God what is wrong with you, it’s just disgusting!” Willow cut her off, really sickened by this talk, and left the room. Buffy got up, gesturing Oz to stay here. She gave Faith a real scolding gaze. Faith blew her a fake kiss, she really couldn’t care less.
Buffy left the room after Willow.
“Willow! Willow wait!”
Willow stopped.
“You know her Willow, it’s just talk and…”
“No it’s not. And no I don’t know her and I don’t want to. She’s a slut, Buffy. Don’t you realize that?”
“It’s not that Willow, it’s…”
“Yes it is, and you know she really does all these things she’s bragging about all the time and it just makes me sick to think about it.”
“She likes to mess with you, Willow, but she doesn’t mean bad and…”
“Yes she does. Don’t you see it in her eyes? And it’s not just with me, she does that with everyone, she messes with you, Buffy. You’re not the same when you’re with her. She’s just… I don’t understand how you can say she’s a friend, she’s mean and filthy and I wouldn’t want any of my friends to be like her. Not ANY.” Willow repeated, staring straight at Buffy before leaving.
Buffy didn’t go after her, it was as if she was frozen in her place, not able to get out of her mind the disgusted and disappointed look from Willow she’d just witnessed.
She came back to the library and felt relieved that Faith was gone. Oz gave Buffy a slight accusing gaze before going after his girlfriend, as Buffy told him she’d entered the restrooms. Xander didn’t say a thing, which to Buffy, was a bad sign. He looked like he was thinking the same thing that Willow was, in his own way.
The afternoon remained calm. The friends didn’t talk much to each other. Buffy patrolled, at unusual places as a way to not meet the dark slayer.
~~
The week went by, Faith came to lunch on Thursday, but seeing the faces that she was given, Buffy included, she left without a word. The atmosphere got better among the scoobies, lighter.
It was Friday evening, they were dancing at the Bronze, having fun.
Willow tensed suddenly, Buffy understood immediately as she could feel the dark slayer behind her.
“Having fun, B?” Faith said, dancing rhythmically, moving in front of Buffy sensually, as if the others weren’t even there. Buffy’s gaze first fell automatically on Faith’s heavy cleavage and skinny black skirt before looking back at her friends, barely acknowledging her fellow slayer anymore.
“Lots of fun yes, hey Will, let’s get some coke I finished mine.” Buffy passed by Faith almost as if she wasn’t here. She put her arm under Willow’s and the redhead told the boys, “Try to find us some free tables, I’m tired.”
The guys just nodded, a little awkwardly at Faith and left the dance floor.
“Fuck them.”
Faith sighed, she wished she didn’t care, she wished she wasn’t feeling hurt right now, or like after she left them the day before, but she was… and it was getting her mad. She left the Bronze.
It was past midnight. It was very rare that they were staying at the Bronze for so long, but they had all had a good time when they finally exited the club.
“Do you want me to drive you home, Buffy?”
“Thanks, Oz, but I’m gonna patrol a little, then I’ll walk home. T’s ok, I can stay in bed tomorrow.”
Xander looked amazed though he was used to that, “How do you do it? I can barely stay up right now. I can’t feel my feet anymore.”
“Yeah, me too, I’m so drained.” Willow added.
“Well, I’m a little tired, yes, I’ll make it a short patrol.” Buffy lied, not wanting to tell them she was so fresh right now, all this dancing put her in good shape for the main course; the slaying…
“Ok, see you, Buffy!”
“Bye! Goodnight!”
“Night!” They left in opposite directions. Buffy walked a few blocks, turned on the right as she was heading towards Restfield cemetery, where she would most likely find enough demoniac activities to please her. She felt a tingling sensation at the pit of her stomach and exhaled in a sigh as she noticed a silhouette standing against the wall, smoking a cigarette.
Buffy slowed her pace and finally stopped when she arrived at the level of the dark slayer standing there. Faith exhaled a puff of her cig and looked at her. Buffy swallowed slightly at the cold gleam in Faith’s eyes.
“Did you have a good time?”
“Yes, it was nice.” Buffy just replied properly contrary to Faith’s toneless question.
Faith slapped her hard, taking her by surprise. Buffy cried out with a jerk, putting her hand to her cheek. But to her own surprise, she didn’t hit back.
“What’s wrong with you?!”
“I’m not your bitch, Buffy.” Faith’s tone was cold with a hint of bitterness.
Buffy gulped,
“What
are you talking about?”
“Was it fun for you? Play it nice with your friends, acting like the nice girl you’re NOT.”
“Faith I...“
Faith, in another brutal move grabbed her by her jacket and threw her against the wall, standing several steps away.
“Are you crazy?!”
Faith moved a few steps closer, staring threateningly at her, “Don’t ever look at me the way you did tonight, Buffy. EVER AGAIN. That they do it is one thing, but you… Don’t you dare do that again. Don’t think you’re better than me, or higher than me. We both know the truth, Buffy.”
“Faith, I’m sorry if you thought-“
“Don’t sorrymenow B. ok?! Just don’t do it.”
“It wasn’t meant that way. Faith, I just think you’re going too far, that’s all.”
“And you don’t like it, maybe?”
Buffy looked aside,
she couldn’t lie in front of Faith, but then she stared back at
her,
“I’m afraid of it, Faith. I just think you
should try to act less…” Buffy was searching for her
words.
“Slutty… that’s what you’re gonna say?!”
Buffy tried her nicer tone, “That’s not what I mean Faith, it’s just..."
Faith grabbed her
shirt and blocked her hard against the wall,
“Don’t
fuck with me, Buffy! Don’t take that tone with me cause you
know you’re as slutty as I am, and then some.”
“No I’m not!” Buffy said, brushing her away, “I tried to be nice but no, I’m nothing like you, even with what you and I are doing, it doesn’t compare… I’m mostly being… weak with you, that’s all.”
Faith slightly laughed, “That’s the best one yet. You’re really trying to play miss holier than thou on me I can’t believe that! So you’re being weak, letting evil sister play with your body when you surely never crave it like Hell.”
Buffy slightly looked aside.
“So don’t try to fool me, B. You are just as dirty as I am… and you know you like it that way.”
“No, Faith, you’ve got a real problem… You’ve been acting insane since the night of my birthday, you know something happened then.”
“And you call me insane?”
“You know I’m right, Faith. You’ve been acting like this fucked-up bitch ever since.”
Faith hit her so hard Buffy fell on her knees, a thin line of blood escaping from her lips. She wiped it and slowly got up while Faith went on,
“I’m fucked up, that’s not news, I’ve always been like that, Buffy, you’ve always known that. You want me to tell you what has really changed? Well, what changed is that when your friends look at me that way they’re looking at you too, because you know you’re just like me and you can’t stand your reflection in me.”
Buffy was shaking her head in disagreement.
“You are JUST LIKE ME.” Faith said with emphasis on the words.
“Get down.” She added. Buffy stared at her with a strange mix of submission and revulsion all at the same time...
PART 12
Faith kept her hard stare. Buffy looked aside.
“On your knees, Buffy, now.”
“No.” Buffy couldn’t look at Faith, “I’ve done things with you, and yes, I wanted it somehow, but I’d have never done such things if you hadn’t pulled me into it.”
“Bullshit! You have it in you. I just showed you.”
“Down!” Faith exclaimed, as she first pushed her against the wall and then pulled down on her shoulders. Buffy struggled, so Faith kneed her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her. Buffy put one hand on the ground and another on her stomach.
“You’re losing it, Faith.” She coughed.
Faith began to lift her skirt. She unsurprisingly wasn’t wearing panties.
“No, I don’t want to,” Buffy said, as she understood, she attempted to try and get up. But Faith held her down on the ground with her hand on her shoulder.
“Yes you do, you just don’t know it yet. But you’ve been dying to, inwardly.”
Buffy shook her head
and Faith added,
“Besides, I don’t care what you
want. You’re gonna be my bitch tonight, B.”
Faith pulled Buffy’s head backwards by her hair, getting a cry from her and then pulled it into her center. Buffy tried to free herself, but Faith kept her head still with both her hands. The dark slayer spread her legs by moving one forward. Buffy, despite her will, could feel her senses heightened at the scent of the dark slayer’s desire. She couldn’t help but breath in her scent and feel her juices on her face. She finally opened her mouth and her tongue found Faith’s mound like it had done that all its life, and she began giving small licks on it. She could feel Faith’s juices spreading on her chin already. She was trying hard not to swallow, but she was getting overwhelmed by the slayer’s juices and Faith was pulling her face even harder that she surrendered at some point. And to her displeasure; she liked the taste of it… a lot. She felt her own juices rushing to her crotch at the sweet texture slipping down her throat. She felt her nipples hardened and she grabbed Faith’s thighs like an automaton, pulling her closer. Faith began to moan languidly, she was twisting Buffy’s hair more and more now, with the growing pleasure invading her.
Buffy began to completely suck on her swollen mound, teasing it hard with her tongue, teeth and lips. Faith was crushing herself into Buffy’s mouth with long sighs. Buffy couldn’t feel anything but Faith’s pleasure. She couldn’t hear anything else other than Faith’s pleasure and it was turning her on to feel the dark slayer tremble under her ministrations. Buffy’s right hand went up, almost like it had a mind of its own, and she inserted two fingers directly inside of Faith’s pussy. The dark slayer bucked her hips harder into Buffy’s face with a husky groan. She had to put one hand on the wall to maintain her balance, as the pleasure was becoming too much. Buffy was sucking on her mound harder and harder. Faith was slightly crying out at each thrust of Buffy’s fingers inside of her.
“God yes! God, B! That’s it, B!”
Buffy slid a third finger inside of her and she sucked on the brunette's clit like she meant to swallow it.
“Eat me out, Buffy, yes!”
Buffy felt Faith’s
body shake violently and her walls clenching hard around her fingers,
while Faith let a long cry out, squeezing Buffy’s hair tighter
than ever.
Buffy had to slightly hold her cause Faith was barely
standing on her feet with the aftermath of her powerful climax.
“Tell me,” Faith could barely breathe as she was speaking, “you didn’t love that.”
Buffy got up and
Faith leaned over her for a short second, her head in the crook of
Buffy’s neck before moving her face towards a silent Buffy. And
she kissed her, tasting her own juices, also tasting the blood from
the blonde’s cut lip. Buffy had put her hands around her and
they were kissing passionately, languidly. Faith left Buffy’s
mouth to place soft kisses on her neck, while Buffy was caressing her
hair and her neck. The brunette slayer kissed her like that for a
couple minutes and Buffy finally said,
“I did,”
Faith smiled with victory, but she was taken aback as Buffy pushed her slightly backwards.
“What is this? Come on F, what you’re doing? Why are you kissing me like that, huh? Don’t waste your time. Get some, get gone, come on!” She said, as she pushed her aside again under the brunette’s slightly troubled gaze at Buffy’s coldness.
“Put your dress back in place and get gone already. Otherwise I might think you need something else from me. But that’s not what this is all about so come on, get off me already!” Buffy said slightly pushing her backwards again. Faith looked very lost and disturbed, as Buffy was pushing her away for good it seemed.
She moved backwards
some more, rearranging her skirt and she left running, not able to
stand Buffy’s gaze anymore.
Buffy sighed and let herself
slide against the wall, taking her head in her hands.
~~
A week went by without Faith showing up. The slayers barely talked when they saw each other again, as demons called ‘The sisterhood of Jhe’ tried to set an apocalypse into motion. They were in full slayer mode for that battle; not letting anything disturbed them as the fight was really rough. They all got bruised pretty badly. Faith went out of the library, after the battle, without even telling anyone. Another week went by.
~~
Faith was attacked by vampires, in medieval outfits, which she soon would learn were called the Eliminati. She meant to report it to Giles, unfortunately she had to report it to Wesley Windham-Price instead. The new uptight watcher sent by the council. Faith showed up that day for 5 seconds, before turning around and leaving. Not hiding her disdain for taking any orders from him. Buffy tried to catch up with her,
“Wait, wait Faith, come on.”
“What? Now you’re talking to me?”
“I never was not talking to you, anyway, what happened-happened. Whatever happens between us must not get you in trouble with the council. I know this new guy is a dork but-“
“What? You’re actually gonna take orders from him?”
“We don’t have a choice.”
“Don’t we?” Faith said, with an explicit frown before adding, “Besides, you and me girlfriend, has nothing to do with this asshole not giving me any orders.”
Buffy tried to be nice, “You’re gonna get in trouble, you know that.”
“And you know that’s what I like best...” Buffy smiled her scolding smile and Faith went on, “But it sure will be really worth it if you back me up on this, which I know you would die to do.”
Buffy sighed.
“Till then, have fun... taking orders. I’ll think of you girlfriend.”
She blew a kiss
Buffy’s way and left under the blonde slayer’s upset
gaze. Buffy knew a certain line had been crossed the other night and
she felt different about her and Faith now. She didn’t want to
‘let her do’ anymore, but in the meantime she SO
did not want to obey ANY of Wesley’s orders either. She
sometimes wasn’t sure she wanted to obey ANY orders at all.
She felt it inside, the power, the thrill of having the power and
yet she felt like a ‘puppet’ sometimes with Wesley
and Giles, her mom even, with her life too. Placed here, being the
good girl; in class to study, out to patrol, wherever they wanted.
Whatever they wanted even though SHE had the power. She’d never
questioned herself on this until Faith arrived and put this in her
face; the power was theirs.
~~
On the assignment Buffy came across Faith, which was a good thing since the vampires, supposedly not numerous according to Wesley, were on the contrary very numerous that night. Buffy, despite her reluctance, let Faith lead them to the vampires trap and the fight, though dangerous, proved to be thrilling. Buffy had left almost immediately after it because she knew what was gonna happen if she stayed and she didn’t want to surrender.
She was feeling very out of place the next day. She didn’t want to be at the library, reporting the incident, then go to her test, talking to her friends. God, she was already bored. She hated even thinking that way. She couldn’t help the excitement inside at the thoughts of last night’s battle, yet she didn’t want to let herself crack so she did all this, the report, the class test, the small talk with her friends. Willow was pouting because Buffy didn’t come to study with her the night before. Buffy said she was sorry, the patrol had been rough. She lied and said she would have rather been there with her, when she knew she’d have missed that fight for nothing in the world, especially not to go study all evening. She so couldn’t stand lying like that anymore.
She had decided to let some steam off a little during her patrol that same night, as she was in the Bronze area so she stepped inside. She’d ordered something slightly stronger than her usual coke. She was dancing wildly on the floor. She felt all these gazes on her and suddenly one deeper than the others. She knew who it was, but she didn’t stop dancing. She didn’t search for her through the crowd.
Shortly after, she felt the brunette slayer taking her hand and joining her in her rhythmic dancing. Boys were all around as the slayers were slightly giving a show until Buffy left the dance floor for the bathroom. Faith followed her seconds later.
She was about to step inside Buffy’s stall.
“I didn’t invite you in,” Buffy just said. Faith smiled.
“I’m not a vampire, doll.”
“No, but you’re still not invited,” She said, closing the door.
Faith half laughed in an -OKAY- way. She waited outside for Buffy to come out.
“What do you want?” Buffy casually asked, while going to the basins to wash her hands.
“What do you want?” Faith sensually said, while caressing Buffy’s ass. “I’ve observed you tonight, I know what you want,” She said, as she placed her hand on Buffy’s crotch. Buffy slightly smiled, but removed it.
“Actually, I just wanted to have fun.”
Faith shrugged, “that’s what I was saying, twinkie.”
“On my own.” Buffy added. Faith pretended to pout,
“Oh no, not reverting to your old self are you? Cause... what a waste. On your own, not fun, B.”
“Fun enough for
me. Good night, Faith.”
Buffy walked by Faith who sighed.
The older slayer was
sitting on a couch when Faith exited the restrooms. The brunette went
back to dancing wildly. She noticed the arrival of Wesley who went
straight to Buffy, but she focused back on the horny boys around her,
until Buffy grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the Bronze, ‘on
a mission to find Balthazar’. The demon the Eliminaties
worshipped and that was supposedly dead.
They were walking in an
alley, searching for their lair. Buffy was walking fast, trying hard
to erase the dancing, the drinking, the slaying she did in the
beginning of the evening to only focus on the mission. She didn’t
know Faith was looking at her with a wide smile, while she finally
spotted the vampires in a warehouse.
“Buffy? Buffy? Hey B?”
“Huh what?” Buffy finally said as she realized Faith was calling her. She turned around only to have Faith’s lips crushing hers. The brunette moved forward until Buffy’s back reached the wall, never breaking the kiss and caressing her breasts now.
“Faith, stop now. You have to stop.”
“I know you’ve missed that, B.” She pressed her knee against Buffy’s crotch. Buffy inhaled deeply.
“There’s not only sex in life, Faith.”
Faith kissed her neck and whispered, “I know, there’s also the thrill of feeling them go pouf mmm.” She pressed her knee and Buffy moaned slightly.
“I’m serious. I wish you would just stop being like that.”
“Like what?” Faith said a little more firmly.
“Like that, now move,” Buffy said, pushing her back nicely. Faith put her hands on her hips.
“Like you’re not maybe? I can smell your wetness, B. You can’t fool me.”
“Faith, we have a mission.”
“The fuck with it. We have what they want, they ain’t gonna leave during the night, B.”
Buffy sighed, “Anyway, they’re too many, we have to come back in the morning with reinforcements and well, weapons would be good too.”
Faith moved closer, “Does that mean I can fuck you now?”
Buffy sighed, “No th-“
She was interrupted by Faith’s lips on hers and she couldn’t help kissing her back even harder. Faith’s hand very quickly found her way to her pants and unzipped them. Buffy held her tight as Faith slid a finger inside of her and began thrusting while kissing her.
Buffy broke the kiss in order to catch her breath as Faith was thrusting hard with two fingers inside of her now. The smaller girl wrapped her legs around the younger slayer’s waist and let her thump her fingers even deeper and harder in her. She was slightly crying out at each new thrust, Faith’s palm slamming hard on her clit each time.
Buffy squeezed Faith's head very hard as she came. Faith claimed her lips in a rough kiss as she put her back on the ground. Then she pulled away.
“That was
nice.” She licked her fingers while Buffy was recovering and
she said,
“Now let’s have some more fun.”
Buffy frowned, unsure. Faith smiled wickedly and looked around. Buffy looked there too and frowned, “No, no way, Faith.” Faith was staring at a gunsmith shop further across the street.
Faith shrugged, “You said we needed weapons, there they are.”
“No, we need reinforcement AND daylight.”
“Bullshit, come on girlfriend, let me show you.”
Faith dragged her by the hand. Buffy sighed but followed, knowing she had already lost the battle of will for tonight anyway... What else could happen now?
They nearly got arrested. Actually they got arrested, but they provoked an accident as a way to escape. They had left their separate ways cause Buffy was panicking and cursing her so Faith didn’t insist.
Buffy felt really bad, nothing was going ok. Her day life, the relationship with her friends was tense at best, especially with Willow. She didn’t like the ‘council’s ways’ anymore, yet she didn’t want to be with Faith anymore because she was scared of what might happen. She didn’t feel good either way. Even the relief she was feeling when slaying or letting steam off had a bad taste now. Her subconscious nature was giving her a hard time with all she’d done and it really had a bitter taste...
She didn’t know what way to go anymore. Nothing felt good anymore.
PART 13
They were patrolling towards the warehouse area, in search for Balthazar. Faith was looking at her beautiful bow, from the Gunsmith, proud to have gone back to take it after all. Buffy was very absent minded and looking sad.
“What’s the matter, B?”
“Nothing.”
“You’re such fun tonight, you know that?”
“Sorry, I’m not here to be whatever you want, whenever you want.”
“Come on, don’t start.”
“I’m not starting anything, I’m just...”
“What?”
“Whatever. I just want to get this over with.”
“And I can’t wait to use my new baby.”
Buffy sighed.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“There was no risk, I went back there straight after we split up, no one was aware of it yet, the store was empty. I didn’t take any risks.”
“Yeah.” Buffy said, in a very blasé fashion.
“Did anyone tell you something? No. Did the police come to your house? No. So what’s wrong? It’s totally cool, no one knows.”
“I do. Do you have no conscience at all Faith?”
“Here we go. Come on I didn’t kill anyone ok? We needed weapons to save the world, didn’t we?”
“You’re really good at taking the slaying as an excuse for EVERYTHING you want to do, just an excuse as to have no limits.”
“Why should there be any? We’re the chosen two? We don’t have any limits and I say that’s how it should be.”
Buffy didn’t
even try to argue, she looked blasé. Faith sighed,
“If
I’d known you’d be sulking on me like that, I’d
have taken Willow on patrol with us.”
“Don’t start, Faith.”
“What? What did I do?”
“Don’t put them into this, and leave Willow alone.”
“I can’t mention her name now?”
Buffy looked thoughtful and then said in a cool tone, “Actually no, I think it’s better if you don’t.”
“I’m gonna start to wonder about the two of you, you know that.”
Buffy raised her
eyebrows, not understanding. Faith gave her a wicked smile,
“Come
on, she has such a crush on you. Don’t tell me you didn’t
notice.”
Buffy slightly laughed, “Yeah right.”
“She does.”
“Faith? Willow’s straight and madly in love with Oz.”
“Not saying she wants to jump your bones, or maybe she does, but anyway, they all have a crush on you, more or less I guess. Must be the whole ‘heroin’ thing.”
Buffy couldn’t
believe Faith was serious. The brunette girl laughed then went on,
“Come on, she’s been jealous of me for ‘stealing’
you from the very beginning. Did you see the look she gave me, and
you, earlier? She wants you ALL TO HERSELF, maybe we could set a
threesome up one of these days.”
Buffy looked a little mad.
“Ok, I’m kidding, I know you want my attention all to yourself B.”
“Stop that
now.”
Buffy looked ill at ease.
“What?”
“Stop talking about this?”
“About you and I getting all sweaty?” Faith teased her, but Buffy was beyond that. It didn’t make her blush anymore, it made her uncomfortable in a regretful way. Faith looked aside when she saw her face. She didn’t talk anymore.
After a while.
“Are you alright, Buffy?”
“Yes.”
“You’re really silent you know.”
“I’m just trying to focus on the mission.”
“Ok.”
Half a second after Faith asked, “So how are you doing with the exams?”
“Fine.” Buffy barely said.
“What about the others?”
Buffy sighed then looked at her, “Can you not do that.”
“Do what? I’m just asking you know.”
“Don’t pretend like you care.”
“Come on I do. You know.”
“No I don’t, and no you don’t, you made it clear and it’s perfect that way. So please let’s keep it strictly to the slaying now. I don’t want to share anything else with you.”
Faith tried her best
not to let show how much that last sentence hurt her, mostly the tone
Buffy used. She turned this hurt into anger as she swallowed,
“Fine!”
She walked forward, both slayers now completely oblivious of the other until some Eliminaties jumped onto them. Faith, was completely and ONLY into it since Buffy’s last words, not wasting a minute, as she kicked and punched several vamps to Buffy to stake them. She dropped her bow immediately as she realized she couldn’t make full use of it, but she staked a vampire with the arrow while Buffy staked the vamp she was struggling with.
“Think we got more coming?” Faith said with a concentrated gaze.
“We’ll never make it to the warehouse.”
“If they come one at a time we got a shot.”
The dark slayer replied, already walking ahead, determined. A vampire jumped and she ducked sending him crashing against a pile of several chords of wood and Buffy just had to stake him. She was focused too now, she walked ahead and an arm grabbed her shoulder, just like Faith just did she twisted it sending the new aggressor landing hard against a big dumpster. Faith jumped right in just like Buffy previously did to stake him while Buffy realized, only too late, that it wasn’t an Eliminati, but a human being.
“Faith, no!” But it was too late as Faith was too caught up in the action and in her run-up to stop. She realized too, it was a human being, but too late. She withdrew her stake as soon as she put it in and the blood started to pour from the man’s wounded chest. Buffy knelt beside him, pushing Faith aside. Faith looked like she was in shock.
“Don't move!” Buffy told the man who was slightly shaking.
“I didn't... I didn't know. I didn't know.”
“We need to call 911, NOW!” Buffy said to Faith though not looking at her. The brunette slayer was paralyzed with fear.
The man started shaking even harder as the blood loss increased. He looked up at Buffy who was horrified and not really knowing what to do.
“Don't move, i - it's okay...”
She tried to apply pressure to the wound, but the blood didn’t stop from pouring out, coming from the man’s lips slightly,
“I-I need, I need something to stop the...” Buffy stopped as the man convulsed and gave his last breath in front of her.
Both slayers looked horrified, for a short while, until Faith reacted.
“We gotta go,”
Buffy was frozen;
Faith grabbed her by the arm,
“Come on, we gotta go.”
They ran away in a scattered way. Buffy stopped suddenly but Faith insisted on moving and she climbed a wall. Buffy, still in shock, didn’t follow her but went away in another direction. She found herself at the warehouse in which she could hear Balthazar talking. A quick glance and she realized Giles and Wesley were trapped, blocking the thoughts of the dead man as to focus on rescuing them.
In the meantime Faith back-pedalled. She knelt in front of the man’s dead body. She reached out to his wound, that wound she did. She withdrew her hand very fast, looking lost and bad, full of guilt and like a wall had hit her hard, stopped her. She was lost as to where to go. A black veil had now spread onto her life....
She had to decide what she was gonna do now...
PART 14
Giles drove Buffy and a very shaken Wesley home. The librarian tried to ask Buffy where she was, what she had discovered on Balthazar. If there were more Eliminaties, but he only got vague answers. The blonde slayer seemed somewhere else, not in a daydreaming way. Giles wondered about this, but Wesley was whining too much for him to ask Buffy any more questions about her apparent sorrow.
~~~
Buffy had a nightmare
that night.
She needed to know what it meant, she needed to talk
to someone about this and she knew there was no one she wanted to
know about it. As much as she wanted to confide in Giles, she really
wanted to pretend as if nothing had happened. She didn’t want
it to be real, so she went to Faith first, cause the other slayer
knew, so there would be no explanation to give. And the blonde girl
knew deep down she needed to talk to someone who could take some
of that guilt away. She was feeling so guilty so who else could
she visit, but the only one feeling more guilty than her?
So in
the morning she headed straight to Faith’s motel, only to be
face to face with‘a wall’. Faith shut her out
completely, almost pretending as if it didn’t happen. She said
she’d taken care of this and there was nothing to talk about.
Buffy walked out of Faith’s room with mixed feelings. She knew perfectly well Faith was lying when she told her she didn’t care. Buffy knew the brunette was trying to erase it from her memory cause it hurt too much and she didn’t know how to deal with what she’d done. Buffy knew that, but at the same time, that talk made her feel better about herself because Faith’s attitude was somehow making the blonde girl feel less guilty about this. And she’d said it, she knew it had been wrong to use the word murderer but she did, and she said it to Faith… She unconsciously started to draw a line between them and what happened. Faith did it…. Faith did it… Faith…
~~~
The next day, at school, they were asked by Wesley to investigate the ‘murder’ of Deputy Mayor Allan Finch, as they now knew who he was and Faith’s covering didn’t really work. The authorities had found the body already.
Buffy was freaking
out. Faith was getting irritated by her behavior. She could feel her
slide away, away from her. She could feel the gap between them grow
wider, her only hold now was to remind Buffy that she was
there with her too, all the time, all the way. She threatened her
somehow. Buffy freaked out even more and she finally cracked and went
to Willow, who reasonably led her to talk to Giles.
Faith had
forestalled her but in her own freak-out panic she said that
Buffy did it. Giles pretended to believe her and talk to Buffy about
this. Willow and Xander were told the secret too. Which wasn’t
the best of idea as Xander, sure Faith would listen to him because
he’d been so amazing in bed for the 5 minutes he lasted,
decided now to pay the brunette slayer a visit. Faith got even more
irritated by this, realizing now that they all knew, but mostly that
‘none of them believed her’. Once again that gap
between her and Buffy showed, that gap and difference. Why they would
believe the blonde girl rather than her. She got lost in her own
confusion and frustration and dealt with it the only way she knew
how, with violence and sex. Buffy found them and knocked her out,
stopping her in time before she strangled Xander. She tied her up in
the mansion she’d killed Angel. To give them time to figure out
what they were gonna do with her. Giles tried to talk to her until
Wesley, who’d overheard them, arrived with a council team to
bring Faith back to England.
When Giles told the scoobies about this, there weren't many votes on the ‘rescue Faith from the council team’. Buffy wanted them out of this, but she knew deep down she didn’t want to deal with Faith. That’s when Wesley arrived with a big bruise telling them she’d escaped. Buffy headed straight out to search for her. Knowing Faith, she knew she’d do even more damage to herself, or to others now that she felt chased.
She found her on the docks. She tried to reason with her, but Faith threw more truth in her face that Buffy couldn’t deal with until they were attacked by the Mayor’s henchmen. With Trick leading them. Faith, despite her will to hate them all, couldn’t help but save the blonde girl as Trick was about to bite her. She staked him. They stared at each other for a while, both silent, both unable to talk. Oz arrived and drove Faith back to her motel and took Buffy back to the library, who talked with Giles and then went home.
~~~
Buffy cried out as Faith slid a second finger inside of her and started thrusting very hard, her palm slamming on the blonde’s clit. Buffy’s head was spinning as her orgasm was approaching, suddenly the shelves of the library became grey, dirty, brick walls; they were in an alley. Faith thrust hard and fast. Buffy cried out in shock this time as Allan Finch was standing behind Faith, looking at her, blood pouring out from his heart and lip.
“Faith! Faith stop!”
But the brunette slayer slid a third finger, pumping in and out at slayer’s speed.
“What’s up love? Tell me you don’t like it that way? It’s always better with an audience.”
Faith started laughing and soon Allan joined her in her laughter. Buffy stood straight up in her bed as she woke up from her nightmare, sweat streaming down her body. She felt like she was sick, she couldn’t stand feeling that way anymore.
~~~
Same night; Faith’s motel.
The door opened. Faith frowned, “Please make yourself at home,” she said sarcastically, as Buffy didn’t even knock and was already standing inside. Buffy stood straight in front of her, with a serious yet not too hard gaze.
“What’s up, girlfriend? Brought some more British friends with you?” Faith said, pretending to search behind Buffy for members of the watcher’s council.
“You know Wesley was on his own on that one. It wasn’t our plan.”
Faith just shrugged.
“Anyway, it doesn’t matter anymore. I think they’re gonna make you, us, pass some tests and stuff. But overall they’re leaving you here under Wesley’s watch of course.”
Faith raised her brows, “I think I prefer England then.”
Buffy remained serious, Faith went on, “So you came all this way in the middle of the night to tell me this?"
“No.” Buffy replied, Faith smiled wickedly.
“So I guess you’re here to… celebrate…”
Buffy didn’t harden her gaze but she remained serious, “I came to tell you that whatever they had decided, it wouldn’t have mattered.”
“Yeah, yeah I know, I have to deal with it right? No matter what others say it’s what my head says that matters right? I thought I’d get that speech from Giles not from you.”
“You don’t get it. What they decide doesn’t matter…to me.”
Faith frowned and Buffy went on in a tone of cold honesty, “I want you to leave Sunnydale.”
“What?” Faith said in a half laugh.
“You heard me. There’s no room for the two of us anymore, and I don’t trust you.”
“That’s very funny, B.”
“If you choose to stay, then I don’t want you hanging around with us anymore. You come when Wesley calls you and that’s all. No hanging around in the cafeteria or the library if it’s not needed for the work, you hear me?”
Faith couldn’t believe it, “Who do you think you are, Buffy?”
“If you see us at the Bronze or on the street, whatever, I don’t even want to know you’re there. That goes for me, but mostly for any of the gang. I don’t want you near any of my friends anymore.”
“Come on, that thing with Xander, I wasn’t gonna hurt him.”
Buffy moved closer and hardened her gaze, “Did you hear me?”
“Fuck you, B!”
“And what the Hell made you to sleep with him?”
Faith relaxed as she lay against her headboard again with a smile, “So that’s it, you’re jealous. What? You think he’s the first guy I screwed since you and I started this little game?”
“I couldn’t care less what you’re doing, Faith.”
Faith swallowed at Buffy’s cold, but honest words.
“All I care about is that you stay away from my friends. And you’re not part of that group, Faith. You know it, I know it, so let’s just keep it that way.”
“So that’s it, shutting me out because I know the truth about you.”
“I’m not shutting you out, you just never were in.”
Faith looked aside for a short moment at the painful words before staring at her again, “I think I did, more than once.”
“That’s all you have for you, Faith; sex? You think it’s enough?”
Faith got up, “Maybe not, but I’m in. I’m in your system Buffy, you can’t deny it.”
“Who’s in denial now? And about that shutting out thing, there too, you’re number one.”
Faith leaned over her wall with a sigh, “So that’s all because of that night, right?”
Buffy looked at the bed for a short while, remembering the beautiful night they spent when she was powerless.
“What do you want me to say, Buffy. That something happened? Yeah ok, it was different, I felt… something… strong, you happy now?”
“I don’t want you to say anything, Faith. It is way too late for any of that.”
Faith swallowed and Buffy walked backwards to the door, “I don’t care how you deal but whatever you do, stay out of my life, and most of all; out of my friend’s lives. I won’t tell you twice.”
“What now, you’re threatening me? Think you can take me?”
Faith didn’t
like Buffy’s look, the gleam that she usually liked to see in
the blonde girl’s eyes cause it said they were the same. This
time it was clear Buffy wasn’t joking and just like her, she
would go for the fight. Faith walked forward,
“Yeah, you
and your freaks. Do you think they’d still be so friendly to
you if they knew how you get when the sun goes down? How you like it
rough and dirty? Tell me?!”
Buffy smiled in a sad way at Faith’s last attempt to save the situation.
“You know it wouldn’t change anything. Assuming they believed you, which would be really hard to believe, they would act like they don’t, cause they like it better that way.”
Buffy opened the door, “They were the line not to cross. I thought you understood that. They would ALWAYS be my priority, my first choice. Now, you don’t even come second. You have to get that, Faith.”
She gave the brunette girl a last glance, “You’d better go away, there’s nothing here for you anymore.”
Buffy closed the door. Faith remained standing for a while, swallowing somehow, Buffy’s words echoing but mostly the feeling, the knowledge she’d lost her completely. She’d lost that connection, she’d lost that last smiling thing inside of her and she got mad, mad for allowing that smile in her heart in the first place…
Now she was alone, all alone with her confusion, her anger, her guilt, her remorse and fear. And she HATED feeling that way….
~~~
Faith was walking a corridor. The lights were mostly off except for one room which she headed to, blocking any thoughts in her mind. As she reached the lit room, the door opened and she was face-to-face with a surprised, yet not scared Mayor Wilkins. Surprises very fast let place to curiosity.
“You sent your boy to kill me.”
From curiosity it switched to interest.
“That’s right I did.”
“He’s dust.”
“Well, I thought he might be what with you standing here.”
Faith gradually stepped inside with a gleam in her eyes, “I guess that means… you have a job opening.”
Mayor Wilkins closed the door behind them with a definite interest gaze and an ironic smile.
